Cel shaded Killzone. Killzone 3's characters look almost cel shaded already and the environments are incredibly cartoony. If done with subtle black lines it could certainly work with the look of the series.
Okay, I couldn't imagine it actually happening, but it would be interesting if it did.
If spin-offs counted you could jot down Paper Mario as a succcesful foray for a series into cel shading (maybe that's not technically cel shading? But whatever, it looks exactly the same
).

Why does Mario box art have to look like a bad cartoon?
Why do the characters only have one expression? I'm not fond of the design, showing all characters twice. But showing them with the exact same expression on their face?
I was thinking about the Wii U lineup for next year, and realised that I don't give a fuck about pretty much anything except for Bayonetta 2....and I'm not even a giant fan of that.
So far they have announced these for next year:
Aaaaaaaaaand? What else? Next year is the point in a new console's life when it should be BURSTING with new killer games. I mean so much shit that you're dying for that you can't even play them all. Instead, Nintendo doesn't even have ONE game announced for next year that would be a day 1 must have game for me.
Zelda U I am sure won't be out until holiday 2015. Metroid U hasn't even been talked about, so that's at least a 2015 release at the earliest. Xeno won't be done until 2015...possible 2016 release over here. I would be surprised if Shin Megami x Fire Emblem makes it out next year, most likely not.
Super Mario U is something I can definitely see coming out next holiday...but that's not enough. They need to get their shit together and start courting some big exclusives fast. How about another exclusive Resident Evil, maybe a RE2 remake? How about a solid Shooter with addictive multi-player that will keep people coming back for more? How about a Zombi U sequel?
They need more than a niche action game and a bunch of games starring Mario to fill out a good release list for 2014.
Shelter looks like a nice fresh experience. A game in which you're a mother badger, surviving with her kin (or without, depending on how carefree you are) I like the style, although I haven't seen it in motion yet. The concept is unique as well. Like the review says, it puts your amount of 'lives' into a whole new light. I don't think the game is suited for those of us who go weak in the knees when they lose a pikmin though.
Nintendo desperatly needs to secure some exclusive 3rd party content. If they'd take over Platinum, that'd help, but only for core gamers. Platinum themselves have said that their games don't turn enough of a profit.

I say this a lot, but its true; They need another Rareware.
Somebody who can not only duplicate and evolve what Nintendo does, but who can also make the "cool" game like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, and knows how to create software with mass appeal that can sell systems. Platinum is great, but they're more like a great band that only serious music fans care about. Awesome to have and know about, but they're not going to sell your tickets.
Damn, when the Gamecube came out they seemed so well set up with exclusive talent. Rare, Retro, Silicon Knights, Resident Evil, and others.
Mario 3D World box is terrible. It looks like a fan-made hack job put together in less than 15 minutes. Maybe even worse than that. I hate it.
