PREVIEW: IS QUANTUM BREAK STUCK IN THE PAST?
"Don't be fooled. Over the last fourteen years, Remedy has only ever made one type of game: third-person shooters with reality bending mechanics bolted on the top."computerandvideogames.com impressions gamingeek
The MCV story deliberatly edit out Wii U from the actual quote. It's bad enough it's receiving no support but changing stories and dropping mention of it in articles is journalistically shady. This isn't the first time I've seen this done it happens all the time, this is just the first time I'm bringing it up and the main culprits are Polygon, Videogamer and MCV - Ben Parfitt in particular.
Nothing new...its the Gamecube days all over again.
Remember in the 2nd half of the Gamecube's life, every fucking article- even those about multi-platform games also coming to Cube- would convienently only mention Xbox and PS2, as if they were the only consoles that existed? Any system wars type article also only mentioned Sony and Microsoft. Its the same thing that is going on now.
I just find it ugly, because I view multiple sites every day I see the same story repeated in different ways. When a new Tomb Raider was announced the exact quote from the publishers was it was in the works for "next generation consoles", Videogamer and others decided to write it up as: Tomb Raider confirmed for XB1 and PS4. Now granted it was highly likely that there would be no Wii U version but they didn't know for a fact, when they posted the story. Same for the Next gen Deus Ex. Wii U is Nintendo's next generation console whether people like it or not. Pretending it doesn't exist by being selective with quotes is distasteful.

Now that you mention it, during the Wii era we had execs from MS and Sony coming up with selective bragging quotes excluding Wii from consideration. "We are the highest selling Next Generation system" etc.
And didn't Ubisoft post some results that said they were the most succesful publisher then with a * at the bottom it said something like *excluding Nintendo.
Sony and MS make professional, high-quality video game consoles for a more sophisticated audience; Nintendo makes toys for children, thus Nintendo is completely irrelevant in any discussion regarding video games.

Ha!!! I remember reading comments like that so many times back then. That's one thing I honestly used to hear more in the Gamecube days than even in the Wii days or now with the Wii U, the old "we make serious systems and Nintendo makes toys" comment.
Really, Nintendo caused this themselves though, with the old lunchbox handle, purple color, and Yamauchi himself actually kept saying "a games console is ultimately a toy" in every interview before Gamecube launched. I mean just hold your face out & take a full force elbow why don't ya?

"Like most gamers and industry types alike, I reckon, I'd prefer if Microsoft had spent that money on finding and funding a really interesting new IP. The company, incidentally, seems to be absolutely fantastic at finding promising IP that's struggling to realise its potential, buying it and honing it to greatness - that's what it did with Halo and with Crackdown, to name but two. More of that and fewer money-hats for existing franchises would be a better long-term plan; but if the Tomb Raider deal is a flavour of the future, Microsoft seems to have fallen back on chequebook warfare. "
Exactly.
Or go out and fund a game that otherwise isn't going to be made, like Nintendo did with Bayonetta 2.

The really idiotic thing here is referring to current generation consoles as next-gen.
Raven, why is Gurran Lagaan like $300 on dvd for the whole series?
You can ride Gorillas!
It's $140 here. http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=aoa3302

The truth hurts.
P.T. review is up.

So even with twice as many consoles being sold software is selling less?
There are new consoles of note. There aren't new games of note.

It costs more to buy a system. Less money for games.
