Even assuming the PS4K is real, how do people know its more powerful than the NX if the NX itself is "significantly" more powerful than PS4? Wouldn't that just put them on equal ground?

I find it silly and a bit insane that I can imagine Sony and Microsoft got wind on the NX being a decent bit higher tech than their machines, and that's a big part of the reason they are even thinking of doing this upgrade crap. Because they do not want Nintendo having a stronger console...ever again. And they will do whatever they have to to make sure it doesn't happen, including completely fucking over their customers and ruining console gaming with upgrades. I just have this feeling this is true.

So if Nintendo is contemplating remasters of WiiU games this would mean that Nintendo is not going to include BC, which would indicate they're finally ditching the cpu architecture they've been relying on since the Gamecube?

With that sort of attitude you'll probably get one soon, like I did with the PS4.

But with going from one extreme to the other (long console cycle to short, half-in, half-out console cycle), there is not only no longer any practical reason for buying a console, but also no sentimental one.

Now watch me buy a next-gen console or two.

Yes, this is pretty much confirmed. It's ARM or x86 CPUs.

Well who could blame them?  Seemed to have worked wonders for the PS4 in its early days.

Yes there have been a fuck load of PS4 remasters. But only 2 Wii U remasters are confirmed, they are having trouble porting Mario Maker and Splatoon.

IMO Mario Kart and Splatoon day 1 would have been awesome - not for me personally but as the two biggest U properties with social and multiplayer online.

XB1 has/had actual exclusives and decent marketing. The whole E3 debacle about online all the time and the high price hurt. Even Kinect, that's all changed though. Today, right now what is the difference?

Of course Sony has been able to press the advantage as higher sales and better tech meant more support and more exclusives.

But one mans' gimmick is another mans USP. Praising the PS4 for doing absolutely nothing interesting or new is boring and defeatist.

PS4 is like the ice skater in that Olympics race, who only won gold because everybody else fell flat on their faces. There are lots of people who just want a normal console with better graphics and fair due, they are welcome to it.
