The funny thing about consoles are, these guys spend 4 or 5 years painstakingly trying to grow their userbase as large as possible.......only to throw it away the following year by releasing new hardware and starting the whole process over again.
In a way, it seems self defeating.
So my brother just got a PS3, and just experienced online gaming for the first time ever with Call of Duty 4. He's all amazed and shit, which is hilarious to me because he's just now getting the feeling I got playing Quake 3 8 years back on Dreamcast.
He's talking to me about all the different game modes and shit, acting like they're all revolutionary. Has no clue that FPS's have been doing the same modes with different names for 10 years. But if I try to explain this to him, he gets all pissed like I'm lying to him or something. Like it can't possibly NOT be revolutionary if he's never seen it.
Its so painfull talking to casuals.
Each gen is like a do-over though. It's like you can build up a huge platform and then piss it away. Makes things exciting, like an election every few years.

Hideo Kojima Discusses Next Two Games, World Relevance In Famitsu
Kojima Productions head reveals that he's personally handling game design on two separate titles.By Nick Des Barres, 12/24/2008
In a candid Famitsu interview this week, Hideo Kojima divulges the fact that he is directing not just one, but two games concurrently. The title that will be announced first is being made in a style similar to the way his team has worked in the past, while the second will be produced by a restructured Kojima Productions with the overseas market firmly in mind. Kojima likens Western game development to Hollywood, with its products being made for the entire world, and reveals that his team is currently receiving "a makeover from the ground up." His goal for Kojima Productions: A software house that can compete with the best of the best from America and Europe.
What could Kojima's two new titles be? We have no idea, but recent reports suggest Kojima has been visiting various Western FPS developers with several of his key staff. He may simply be doing so to gain insight on how Western developers structure and manage their teams, but an FPS made with the West in mind might not seem so surprising coming from the worldly Kojima.
LBP MGS4 pack is the greatest add on in video game history. LBP is now not just a platformer. This changes everything! It can be a 2D shooter now and a really good one.

Oh and the MGS levels kick ass.
But it was already a 2D shooter, remember the Gradius and Duck Hunt level?!
P.S. Vader how does Brawl friend codes work? Do you have to be online at the same time for it to register your friends? Oh and add me and Punk and the rest if you haven't already!
P.P.S. Is this an original post or was it ported over!
That rumor is such crap, there is no chance in hell of Eddie Murphy being anywhere near the next Batman movie.
Iga it was an original post, and yes both friends need to be on before you see the friend codes activate. For instance if you added my code, you need to wait till I get on and add your code, once both codes are added then we appear on each others friend list.
Well, I just got back home with a brand new copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl. I recieved a Christmas card today that contained a $50 gift card, so I weathered the chaos of Christmas Eve shopping ( ), and picked it up. Thankfully, the game works fine with my launch Wii (some launch Wiis don't work with Brawl, and they have to be sent back to Nintendo).
I haven't played that much of it yet, but I'm liking it a lot so far. I definately prefer the slower speed of Brawl's gameplay over Melee's noticably faster speed, and the camera seems less erratic than Melee's too.

Friend Code: 1161-3785-7467
P.S. How do I unlock Toon Link and Sonic?
Subspace Emisary is your unlocking friend. You have to finish it first before you can unlock Toon Link. And check out the sound test, best thing in the game!

Cool, I'll give it a try once I'm done playing the Classic mode that I'm on right now.
P.S. HOLY CRAP @ the graphics!
P.P.S. I just blew up Kid Icarus with a rocket launcher! I'm playing as Kirby, and he tried flying to avoid my missiles, but I still managed to launch one right up his ass!
I'm playing through the Subspace Emisary now, and it's a LOT better than the adventure mode in Melee which didn't make much sense to me. It has a save feature and a map which I also like. BTW, why does Pit walk like he's chafing?
Playing as Pit in the sky levels makes me want another Kid Icarus game NOW!

Pit was always mine main man... eh...angel in the subspace emisary. His flight ability is quite handy for searching out secrets, and you do not have to worry about falling to your doom. Raven did you know you could glide with a winged character? While in air press and hold the jump button.

No, I didn't. Thanks! Kirby floats pretty well, though.

Mele Kalikimaka
is what I wrote in all my Christmas cards this year.

They all suck.
