After reading yet a few more articles from small developers and publishers getting frustrated that their games aren't selling I've decided I'm going to try and take advantage of the situation and possible help out an industry that I'm a big fan of. I'm going to start up a consulting firm/agency to either advise or handle the marketing for these small guys and get them some attention for their games. I've got 11 years exerience that says I can show these companies how to get significantly more attention to their games without having to spend more than $1000 to do it. Frighteningly enough that may still be more than these guys have, but as I start to research this a little more I'll figure the financials of it out.
The good news is, that if I do all of this right the same techniques I'm going to show to these companies will be the same ones that will get attention ot my own company without having to spend more than just money on building a website and whatever legal fees I'll need to set up for incorporating (which is sadly a must if I'm going to handle another company's money).
My ultimate deadline for getting this off the ground and getting the first press releases out announcing the new company will be June 1st. I figure I'll need that much time for a decent website, since my current web development skills haven't really been advanced since the advent of the Style Sheet.
In the meantime though I'm starting the first project which is company name and logo - due date January 31st.
