Okay so in two weeks I'm doing my video game and trivia show at the next big convention I'm doing. They really only wanted a trivia show and I was happy to oblige, but one of the sponsors (i.e. companies that gave me free games to giveaway) gentley insisted there should be more so I can properly promote their game. Not entirely unfair, but fuck now I have to work.... So I'm taking the lazy man's route and pulling out the old, here's what famous characters look like then vs. now. Doesn't require much research, so I can still keep digging for trivia questions.
So now I've come to you guys for a few ideas. I'm looking for classic (or at least old) characters that have had a game released within the last two or three years or at least has one announced. So far I have:
- Pac-Man
- Mario
- Donkey Kong
- Link
- Samus
- Leisure Suit Larry
- Master Chief
- Ryu
- Q*bert
- Lara Croft
- Snake
- Spryo the Dragon
Ideally I'd like have 15 characters to spotlight. I've got 12 and let's face it, Spyro is stretching it. I'd like to also stay away from any other Nintendo characters if that's possible. I've debated adding Princess Peach though. Anyway if you guys have a few more for me I'd like to see them.
Yeaah...... no. No Bomberman. I'd love to bring him out, but I'm trying to find characters that have had recenty games or at the very least haven't been completely and entirely discarded. Bomberman sadly is in that pile.
You can do the entire panel on Sonic but noooo you dont want to. They even made a game based on his look from the past and now.

I did put him in there. But sadly I had to use the Sonic Boom images for his "most recent appearance" picture. It's depressing as hell.
Which makes for a better panel. The more ridiculous it is the more interesting it is.

It was. However it was so bad it was ultimately reversed. Out of respect for the dead (Hudson in this case), I'm going to pretend it never existed.
Was picking players who were in both old games and new games. I don't think Mookie Wilson has been in a game in the past decade or more. But on the plus side, I killed a thread.
