A good old friend of mine passed away last night at age 41, due to complications of end stage renal disease. I had known him for almost 20 years, and we shared many, many memories about life, college, good and bad times.

I hadn't cried in a long-ass time until today.

Aw man. Sorry to hear. You got to say goodbye though right?

No. His death was kind of sudden and unexpected, mostly because he was seemingly doing fine with his dyalisis program. I hadn't seen him for a good month or so. Sad thing is, I almost stopped by his house to say hello this past friday but something else kept me from doing so. I really wish I had visited him that last time.

Very sorry for your loss Steel.  The feelings, thoughts, laughs and the love that you shared live on.

Sorry for your friend and you Steel.  Does he have a family?  After some time they'd probably appreciate the different perspective you had of him (that of a friend).  The more memories you can share the easier it will be to reflect on the time you had with him.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, he still has three siblings, all of them older than he was. I know them all from a while back as well, and two of them live with their families here in the city so I'll try to drop by from time to time in the future, when the mourning period becomes less recent.

Do you have any pictures of you two together? I find that is the worst thing when you lose someone, not even having a picture like that.
