MegaCon 2014 was this past weekend. The convention is now officially the largest con in the Southeast (at least until DragonCon in Atlanta stops witholding their true numbers in fear of being shut down by the fire marshall). It's insane and frankly too big for me now, which is why I only go for part of it. So here's a few pictures that I got. Let's see if someone manages to stumble across them and I accidentally offend them again this year shall we?
First let's start off with a plug for my family. This is my wife and son dressed as Invader Zim and Gir.
Here we have Mega Sonic the Hedgehog Man. Every year this guy (possibly a girl) brings out his Sonic costume and does something a little bit different with it. Mario one year. Goku another. This is probably my favorite variation yet.
I wasn't 100% until I got home, but yep, here we have George Washington from BioShock Infinite.
I don't really know what this is... but it was pretty cool.
The bodypaint job on this femme Medieval Spawn was pretty damned incredible.
That Tiny Tina one is amazing. Good to see she brought her badonkadonks as well.
Your family had a nice costume. Were you a part of it as well?
Those conventions must be sensory overload in person.
No I didn't dress up in the group, though the wife is prodding me to join the group. I'm semi-retired from costuming though.
But yeah they're really getting nuts as far as their popularity and how many people dress up. It's getting to the point where it's encompassing so much half the time I have no idea what the costume is that I'm looking at. I never really knew what the anime costumes were, but now there's just so many other fandoms that get represented that it's too much for one person to ever be completely familiar with all of it.
We need someone's Google Alert to go off....SLUT!
Cool. I look forward to looking at your pictures, and making humorous comments that unintentionally offend the models. You know you'd really think I'd learn by now...
