Not very relevant to the story, but it is totally and utterly astonishing, and a testament to the depths of human stupidity that the republican party still has supporters, let alone it being a sizeable portion of the population.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileWell, they are going ahead with the arbitration, so if he was doing this to avoid the testimony of the ten witnesses and the physical evidence from 2009 and 2010 he's failed (according to the NYT article I read this morning).
A friend of mine told me about this story yesterday. I hadn't laughed this hard in a very long time.
An old lady at some village near Zaragosa in Spain, sad to see the neglect towards her local church 19th century fresco of Jesus, after taking painting lessons, was granted permission to carry out the restoration herself. The results need to be seen to be believed. It is the most hilarious case of "close enough" I have ever seen. There is now apparently a growing group of fans for the restored work (I count myself among them) who want to keep it that way. In fact ... they better.
