The US national team has been for years now the dominant force on this confederation, much to my dismay, lol. They are a team based on organization, hard work and team effort, something my own national team sorely lacks these dark times.

You were one of my favourite teams of the 06 world cup! (I think you might not have made it passed the group stage, not quite sure.)

Such a classic match you had against Argentina, and you were very unlucky!

oh my word!  what a game that was.  what a game!  a triumph of strategy, resilience and team spirit.  Jay DeMerit and Oguchi Onyewu must have made like 1000 clearances between the two of them.  i can see these guys becoming lucrative transfer targets.

not a single mistake in the entire game.  spain's 33 game unbeaten run comes to an end.  what a triumph for the US team!

OMG The US national team has done the unthinkable. I don't think for a second the average american knows or even begins to realize the extent of this amazing feat (see robio up here, lol), if they don't care it's too bad for their national team, who deserve way more attention and praise from the dumb baseball/basketball/handegg crowd.

Beating Spain (considered right now the top national team in the WORLD) 2-0 in an official FIFA tournament is nothing short of amazing. Even though they are our direct rivals in the confederation, I have long admired the way the US national team is managed and the way they play their matches. This one, again, was a lesson in strategy, order, teamwork and collective effort. Congratulations to the US national team, for a victory that will be remembered for years to come.

I'm rooting for them against Brazil.

it was indeed hilarious.  i'm sort of glad brazil scraped their way into the final.  not because they deserved it or because i want them to win the cup, but simply because it will be more prestigious for the US team to beat them in the final instead of south africa

I think Brazil will be harder to beat than Spain, though, because they'll do nothing and just try and get a cheap goal.

LOL Much respect to the US national team, though. They played a brilliant 1st half, but made the mistake of believing they could withstand Brazil's onslaught through the entire second half. Brazil has buried lots of teams in the field for less than that. Kaká is at the very same level of Messi and Cristiano, but he's far more team oriented than those two.
