Im up to like the middle of Leons last chapter 5 and there is a part where you have to climb a large chain up to a roof but the QTE for this is ridiculous! It looks like some kind of alternating left trigger right trigger thing but I couldn't figure it out at all. I kept trying different timings but he just won't climb the motherfucking rope. He gets like a little ways up and keeps falling down. I don't understand it all. I literally tried it for a half hour straight and had to turn the game off, I just can't get by it.
Other than THAT the game is ok. Not amazing but ok. There are some truly great parts (that water part omg I pooped myself some) and some kinda shitty ones. The camera goes apeshit indoors in small areas and it makes some parts a tedious mess. Besides the camera thing the amount of QTES and cutscenes is really annoying and the graphics are uneven, some places look amazing, others look bad its weird. However the game is still fun enough to play, it just dosen't come within the same stratosphere as RE5.
Also the game is hard as king kongs raging erection. Playing on normal I have died between 5-9 times per chapter (!!!) zombies do this flying fucking leap thing and take down three quarters of your health in one go, and that's just a zombie! Like everything that hits you knocks poor leon on his ass and face rapes him lol. I can't blame the game though its probably just me bringing teh suck. To be honest the fact that the game is so hard is making it a lot more engaging and fun for me so it's not a negative ting, just surprising.
IF anyone can clue me in on how to do the QTE climbing part I will give you an internet high five.
Yes worse QTE/part of the entire game. That is what I messaged you about.
You have to act like the triggers are your hands, you MUST have one hand on the rope at all times so you always need to keep one trigger held down. Do not let go of one trigger than press the other cause at some point you will have released both triggers. So hold LT then press RT and hold it. Then let go of LT, press it again while holding RT. Just keep alternating. Always make sure you are holding a trigger

I was wondering that when I was playing it! I was like is this what he meant? lol. Thank you! I will try that out next time, I was kinda embarassed to be defeated by a QTE lol.

In general the final bosses of Leon are a mess. Cool to look at but tough to figure out.
I'm kinda disappointed you don't hate it, GME.
Good impressions, though.

Great impressions Archie and Godmode, keep em coming. I listened to Vaders podcast on the ropes. Reminded me of that bit in MGS PS1 where you were suddenly rappeling down a building.
Well I finished leons chapter 5 (which is just one giant boss battle with some shitty fucking qtes) and it was pretty ass. Leon 1-4 pretty awesome, 8/10 territory, leon chapter 5? Fucking 6/10, poorly executed. Overall a positive experience with Leons campaign though. There are some awesome boss fights, some stand out memorable, fun areas and experiences. Leon still has his dry british sense of humor too.
Played Chris chapter one, it was ok but not mind blowing or anything, again a lot of cramped rooms with a dodgy camera and fast enemys can lead to some frustration. Overall positive impressions from his campaign thus far though. Its pretty hilarious that one of his melee moves is a gigantic "boulder punch" that sends an enemy flying head over heels
Leons melee is all about fancy kicks and shit and chris is just like fuck you bitch ima eat yo face. One of his moves is he actually picks the enemy up over his head and fucking smashes hid face into the ground. Chris roidfield will wreck yo shit!
How are you finding the difficulty angel? I have been dying 6-9 times per chapter on normal. (Only like twice on chris first chapter though) do you find the game surprisingly tough too or am I just weaksauce?

I am afraid you and GME are missing a bunch of stuff in this game. Hope that is not the case.
Really? Can you say anything without spoilers? I'll play the game multiple times anyway so if I miss something now I can get it later.Dvader said:I am afraid you and GME are missing a bunch of stuff in this game. Hope that is not the case.

No I mean mechanics. You just discovered grenades and first aid, you should be using that from the start. Capcom does suck for not having instructions. Actually here you go, a guide of moves from gaf:
Melee is much more the focus of combat in RE6 and using it well is the key to success. Players who don't roll, slide, quick shot, etc... are going to have a horrible time with the game.
Here's a quick list:
-Aim+Melee - Quick shot - these are a kind of auto aim attack great for crowd control and stunning enemies to set them up for melee attacks.
-Aim while sprinting - Slide (Will stun enemies. Can slide into cover and keep Aim held down to stay in cover)
-Slide+left stick down - 180 slide
-Sprint+Melee - dash attack - You can use this shoulder-check to stagger enemies and set them up for further melee attacks.
-Aim+Direction+A(360)/X(PS3) - Dodge roll (hold Aim to stay on ground, can 180 when dodging forward and pulling back on left stick. Can simply duck if not holding a direction. Can cancel duck into a dodge). Releasing L1 the moment you hit the ground causes you to hop back to your feet. Holding L1 will allow you to shoot from the ground. Tapping left or right will cause you to roll in circles around your enemy.
-You can do the backdepleted version of the above the moment you're hit to the ground by an enemy to instantly roll back to your feet. Also note you'll be knocked over every time a segment of your health bar is fully
Counter attack
-press Melee just as an enemy is about to attack/hit you to counter. Sometimes there will be no prompt for this until you have performed the counter, other times it will be very fast. Timing is very important.
Melee attacks
-Your Melee attacks are governed by the Stamina Meter, use too many Melee attacks in a row and it will be drained and "overheat".
-Keep an eye on your stamina Meter, taking cover will refill it faster (so will being on the ground without moving).
-You can disarm armed zombies by hitting them twice with a melee, which dazes them so that the third melee wrenches the weapon out of their hands and kills them.
-You can melee enemies standing behind you, elbowing them in the face to stun them, setting them up for a different melee.
-You can guarantee the context-sensitive melee by shooting an enemy in the head just once to daze them, then getting close and hitting R1.
-Some larger enemies can be attacked while in certain states to trigger QTE chain combos. For example the lizard-like Strelats can be melee or dash attacked to trigger a combo while they're turtling inside their fans before they shoot their spikes.
Weapons
-Weapons have their own unique attacks and combos (hold aim and continue to tap attack after quick shots for certain characters/weapons). Chris's knife for example does a multi slash by aiming and tapping back + A/X (solo action) button, great for fending off advancing enemies.
-(Jake's Hand to Hand) Hold Aim until target is acquired, then mash Melee - Three hit combo
-(Knives only) While aiming, left stick down+Melee - Stab attack
-Y/Triangle while aiming certain weapons - Select fire mode
*Can quick shot with knives and grenades
*Stagger system still in effect. Headshot a humanoid enemy to stagger them, then perform a contextual melee (front or back) for massive damage.
Other Tips
-Rotate both sticks during grappling QTEs, the game responds to both inputs and it makes them easier.
-You can paint enemy targets for your AI partner to priortize by aiming at the enemy and tapping B/Circle.
-Hold Heal and reload - Reload pill container

Since when is Leon fucking Kennedy British?
He's from the midwest, you cocksucker!
Inbetween chapters.
