Started two new Animes
World Conquest Zvezda Plot (lit. Sekai Seifuku: Bōryaku no Zvezda) stars a little girl named Kate Hoshimiya (also known as Lady Venera), who is at the helm of an organization called Zvezda, which has the purpose of World Conquest.
Seems like a winner so far, very funny and cute, with the weird world domination thing happening. No English dub though.
The Future Diary
Yukiteru "Yuki" Amano is a loner who spends most of his time writing a diary on his cell phone or talking with his imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space; and Murmur, Deus's servant. One day, Deus gives Yuki a special diary, mentioning something about a game. Strangely, Yuki's new diary has entries in it spanning the next 90 days—entries about the future that come unnervingly true.
Seems like a poor mans Eden of the East at the moment with a darker side. If the series continues like episode 2 with everyone just looking at their phones and magically changing the future every 5 minutes it will start to wear. It hasn't yet though and has a dark side which is getting more interesting.
Finished the Familiar of Zero Season 3
Wish there was a complete series boxset, charging £30 x 4 (£120) for the 4 parts is extortionate for 48 episodes.
Finished Season 1 of Noragami
As a minor god of calamity, Yato lacks even a shrine to his name. In attempts to become known, he charges only 5 yen to grant the wishes of Near Shore dwellers- a.k.a. the living. Throughout his missions, he encounters a Near Shore girl named Hiyori Iki whose soul frequently slips out of her body, and Yukine, a wandering spirit whom he names as his weapon to kill corrupted spirits with.
It's watchable but not particularly good. The humour is not quite there, overeactions only and not very funny ones. Still pleasant enough to watch but nothing memorable.
Finished the first 13 episodes of the Future Diary. Kinda hard to comment on it because its not a complete story arc.
It's decent.
Ravenprose said:I greatly enjoyed The Future Diary.
I like it too. The main characters outfit is distracting though, orange outfit, short shorts and beanie hat. High socks? Guy looks like a loon.
How many episodes are there?
Finished Danganronpa, all 13 episodes.
Makoto Naegi, an average student selected to join Hope's Peak Academy, arrives at the school only to lose consciousness and later find himself trapped inside the school, along with fourteen other students. There, a sadistic remote-controlled teddy bear by the name of Monokuma announces that the students will be forced to live in the school forever, offering only one way to graduate: murder another student and get away with it.
It's clearly based on a videogame and a very Phoenix Wright like one, at that. Most episodes have someone die then a trial.
It's decent stuff but not brilliant. The ending elevates it a bit. It's not something I would rush out to watch, but if you have run out of other stuff to watch it's watchable.
Damnit, really wanted to buy Nisekoi but there is no English dub. So I will wait.
Ordered No Game No Life, where is season 2?
Log Horizon part 2 and Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions.
I wanted Beyond The Boundary but the price is a bit of a rip off.
Is it like Phoenix Wright?
There is a second series, bizaarely called Danganronpa 3.

Finished World Conquest Zvezda Plot.
Fun series, need a second series which it teases. It's a comedy series where a little girl is focused on World Conquest.
Silly, whimsical, offbeat and fun. My kind of series.
Watched the first 3 episodes of Sentai Filmworks English dub of No Game No Life.
Great dub, and they cut out the child nudity that was on Crunchy which I throuroughly approve of (cutting it I mean). That felt weird and eliminates the one aspect that bugged me.
Also in HD, the colour palette which I bemoaned before looks great.
Also D-Gray Man is growing on me. I'm about 26 episodes in and whilst not the greatest of series it has got more enjoyable. Only half the series has been released here though. No idea where I'm going to see the other half.
Haven't seen Free. My daughter watched it and liked it a lot. I suck at making top lists, but some of my favorites are:
- Hajime no Ippo: Boxing anime, it's great stuff but I don't think the anime ever reached some conclusion. It has two or three different runs.
- Kuroko no Basket: This one is also great, matches are pretty exciting but it has a bunch of...I dunno, supernatural powers stuff. I didn't mind it, but I guess it can be a turn down for some.
- Slam Dunk: Another basketball one, this one is older and with no superpower stuff going on. Characters are great.
- Yowamushi Pedal: Cycling one, has an epic conclusion and great character development.
- Ace of Diamond: The latest one I watched, feels like it drags a bit towards the middle of the first season, but it quickly ramps up its pace during the second one and the ending is among the best.
- Notari Matsutaro: Sumo fighting anime. Great comedy and art style.
- Initial D: Racing one, I seem to remember the ending was a bit lacking, but overall it was an amazing ride lol pun.
- Bamboo Blade: Kendo anime, it mixes comedy and schoolgirl stuff.
