How have you not heard of Florida Man? Is it just something that just shoved in my face more since I live down here? I thought it was considered a national joke.

Maybe.  When it comes to memes, I'm usually late to the party.

See? You are already making excuses why it will not go through. But yet somehow a Star Wars weekend will happen.

You can call me an ass if it makes you feel better, but let's not kid ourselves. We want to meet up, but as soon as we have to put some effort into it, we back down. So honestly we do not want to meet up, not really. We like the idea, but we back down when we want to take it further.

Foolz, Homer and I actually did meet up and it was fun. Tried to do the same with GG, but he backed down. I will try yo visit some of you if I am in the neibourhood, but do not hold your breath, that time may never come!

No shit I know what happened with the plan, but GG is going through a tough time so how about you don't take stuff out on him now you emotionless robot.

If my schedule remains the same which as of now I do not see why it would change it is impossible for me to meet up with him this month. Yes Star Wars weekends will work cause it is MY PLAN. Do you not understand that it takes two humans to plan a meet up. You don't force your way into a meeting and threaten to rape them. Nyaa

No one's attacking GG, so stop being so defensive.

The rest of your post are more excuses. And don't tell me about planning. I have and still plan events involving multiple people. I did actually meet up with people from here. Actually I managed to meet up with Foolz and Homer in Australia. You cannot manage a meeting with someone who lives close to you.

Either you meet up or you don't. There is no try!

how about the right to dream?  Sometimes it is better to put something off and dream about it than it is to actually execute the plan.  I myself have been dreaming of buying Arne Jacobsen's Egg Chair for years now.  It's expensive, but I could technically buy it.  However, as long as I do not, the chair remains something to dream of and to long for, something I tell myself I'll one day own and be able to marvle at every single day.

Should I ever get round to actually buying it, it'll end up just being a commodity that clogs up my house, in which I will sit every now and then to game, seeing the fine fabric deteriorate over the years.  The dream will die the day I buy that chair.

Sometimes, it's better to dream.

And to make another argument: it's easier to plan when you're on a trip somewhere far away.  I'm sure you saw some pretty exciting stuff in Australia, but have you been to most of the museums near to your home town?  I highly doubt it.

Also, should we all ever meet, it's only just that we meet here in Belgium.  Meeting up in North America just wouldn't be fair, as the distance everyone has to travel would very greatly, thus requiring wildly different financial commitment from the lot of you.  However, Belgium, now that's far from almost anyone here.  Only GG and Iga live nearby.  GG, he won't show up no matter where we meet, so he's out of the equation.  Iga, he'd show up anywhere regardless of where we decide on, he feels as if he has proven himself already, so he doesn't count either.

Furthermore we could go see...  Stuff.  Like Manneke Pis!  And eat waffles and drink all sorts of beers that would wipe the floor with you North Americans and your puny alcoholic beverages.

I hereby rest my case and will start preparing to receive the lot of you at my house, where we will game till the early hours ,or at least untill the wife shouts at us for being too loud and waking the kids.

Belgium also has the Comic Book Route which is much more awe inspiring than Disneyland.

Man you guys all have different ideas and all disagree on pretty much everything about meeting up.

I go on a yearly adventure so I'm not sure I would have the resources to do another one. That said as an idea goes for you guys, I was thinking last year about this. There is a company called Intrepid that do tours in different countries. You have to arrange your flights yourself from where you are in the world. Then when you land they take over and you join everybody else on the tour.

So theoretically you could select a tour and date and all sign up to the same trip and date. Then when you land you all go on an adventure at the same time in a group.

For me I think a more local meet up would be better, maybe Paris? I'm not against meeting it just has to be right time, right place, the stars need to align metaphorically. And would prefer a group. I can't really stretch out my finances right now and it's a bit stressful here anyway.

There are certain zones in which the government allows it.  Hookers can get sued if they do their thing beyond those bord...

Err, I mean: how should I know?  blush

Why?  Are you looking into financing your trip by earning some money as you travel?

That sounds good, GG.  I've always wanted to see Paris, but financially, it's not doable right now.  Like I've said, the best chance for a meet up is one person traveling around the globe.  I don't want this idea to die.  I do want to meet some of you guys.

I was thinking more about the European contingent. And it would be easier for the North American contingent to meet up in N.A.

Then if that actually worked, then plan the once in a lifetime big meet.

Sometimes, yes! Not this time. I met up with Foolz and Homer and it was fun.

This is so true, I saw this flaw years ago and fixed it.

Besides the argument I have with Vader is not about all of us meeting up, but just him and Robio and maybe Travo. Keeping it simple, before you go all out!

That was my point, it's probably easier to meet up with Foolz if you're planning a trip to Australia, then meeting up with someone who's only a long drive away.  Heck, it's hard enough meeting up with my best friends, eventhough they only live less than an hours drive away.

Also, I am glad to hear that Real Foolz turned out to be better than Dream Foolz  Nyaa

No it's not. I meet up with people all the time. Just take the initiative and set some dates and you are good to go. If the other side does not answer you, then I guess he is no longer your best friend. Move on and find a new friend. I meet up with Foolz and Homer once and it will probably be a once in a lifetime event. My best friends I meet multiple times in a year.

Burger Time?

Burger Time has clear, immediately apparent logic behind it.

Burger King made their name sillier in Australia, so the rest of the world isn't completely innocent.

Ok. So I told you this story right? When they wanted to bring Burger King over to Australia my uncle bobby had already used the name for his burger joint, so they looked at the trademarks they already had and chose "Hungry Jacks" which was somrhting they had reserved for a flapjack (pancake) product.

The internet says it was a place in adelaide, but I had been told it was NQ, where my (second cousin "uncle") premiered his double burger.  He gave out fake bank notes with himself with a crown on it back in the 60's and 70's. He got (stole) the idea after visiting california after serving in WW2 and going to a Mcdonald's.

Huh.... TIL Aspro's family has carried on the Australian tradition of criminal behavior by stealing burger ideas.
