Pokemon Go outage 'stressing' Australian users

Players accused UK residents of clogging up the system by trying to bypass regional servers to access the game Down Under.

"People in the UK need to stop playing and adding to the server problems," a user posted on aussieoutages.com on Tuesday.

While it's not confirmed if that is the case, the aussieoutages website was on Tuesday carrying numerous messages from frustrated users reporting server and log-in problems

"Was out for a walk and I got a text from my brother (never really played a Pokemon game in his life) saying 'where's the nearest Pokestop?'. We went on a two and a bit hour walk, met loads of people who were all helping each other and after running into the same couple three/four times we found them outside our house trying to catch a Seel. I fucking love this game, it's becoming a cultural touchstone so far in the UK."

"This game is making me get a tan. I did my usual gym (as in real-life, weight training gym) routine yesterday, but instead of doing cardio on a stationary bike at the end, I decided to walk around campus to hit up some PokéStops. Only had time for a 1 km walk, but it was like 90 F outside at that time and super sunny. A few weeks of this and I'll be tan as hell. "

Doubt this will happen in the UK, but I probably wouldn't go for it anyway. I don't even play the games I own. I have got back into Splatoon though. Happy

So what's should Nintendo do with their other properties. Zelda could make amazing use of AR as well, that game is all about exploration some how mix secret finding and dungeons with going to certain spots. Animal crossing mobile doesn't really need a traveling component to it but the social in app possibilities are nuts.

Or wait until PS4 Neo, Xbox One S, or Xbox One Scorpion come out and pick up a cheap PS4, or Xbox One.

Use manhole covers as dungeon entrances in a Zelda AR game. Fun for kids of all ages. Nyaa

Make the dungeons come alive in different locations with AR using the touch screen to solve puzzles.

"I went down to the local naval park around 10 pm, saw literally hundreds of people playing this game over the next 3 hours. On occasion some confused person would come up asking if everyone was there for pokemon. The answer was always a resounding yes."

"It hasn't even been 1 week yet and it's huge my lord I knew it was crazy when I saw everybody talking about it on social media, I knew it was huger when I saw WWE mention it multiple times and I knew it was even bigger when people were playing it in work. Now it's the biggest in US history? Holy shit. This is like back when we were kids and Pokemon took over. I'm having flashbacks of watching the first episode on UPN."

"I went out with my friend lastnight for some Pokemon hunting. We found what we call the "magic mile". It was this one street with like 6 or more poke stops on it, all close together.

We park our car at the start of the street and get walking, gotta hatch them eggs!

As we come up to the middle, we notice someone put out a few lures, so that three poke stops have em and you can be in all three at the same time. There were easily 8 cars or more, all packed in on this little street. People were out walking too.

One of the residents was yelling at people to leave and stop playing. We just kept walking, checking in and catching what we could. We got all the way to the end, then turned around and as we're coming back, a random in a car tells us to turn around, someone called the cops.

We then see droves of cars coming from there, with a few police cars at the end.

One of the other residents came out of his house to chat with us. Apparently the guy that called the cops and was yelling also told him he wasnt allowed to play here, and he told him to fuck himself, that he lives on the street and will play where he damn well pleases.

We left, went on to fight a local gym, a car pulled up and the guy asked me if i beat that gym, i said yes. He told me he was going to kick my ass. He whips out his phone, took on my gym and won. Then he flipped me off and drove away. My friend and I couldnt stop laughing. Fucking Pokemon Go"

LOL

"My mate is in the U.S. at the moment. 2am, in Santa Monica and the park he's near is FULL of people playing the game. This shit is crazy. Here in Australia, the Red Cross is using the game to try and get people to donate blood. I think the RSPCA and charities which help rescue animals, they are encouraging players to come along and take a dog or dogs for a walk. But the media is concentrating on how bad the game is for your health and all this other bullshit."

"People in my city yesterday. Keep in mind the game was not even out. Crazy."

"Holy shit. I live in a small village in a small european country. App is not even released here yet. I took a walk to the village's church, since its the only pokestop in decent walking distance. Upon arriving and reclaiming the itens, i notice a car pullibg over. Two young dudes get out with their phones, ask me if im playing Pokémon GO. We've a bit of a chit chat, they use the pokestop, and we capture a Pidgeotto that spawned right after. My mind is a bit blown right now. "

A Wartortle just showed up on Santa Monica Pier and HUNDREDS of people ran for it. Absolutely insane

"Guys met another grill. Another cutie. 23. Talked a little bit, separated into the crowd. Found each other again 10 minutes later, smiled in her direction (cause I finally evolved a Vaporeon). She came over to talk to me again. We chilled and chatted for an hour. She asked me to walk her home. I did. I was too scared to ask for her number. Guys why is this game showcasing my inability to date women who aren't hooked up by my friends"

"I also got to meet more people which was awesome. Me and another girl were searching around and immediately were like "Pokemon Go?" and then "yup lol" so we both decided to travel together in search of more Pokemon. Then we added on Facebook and we're thinking of starting a group chat for our street. It's amazing how easy this game makes socializing. "

"guys i just exchanged numbers with a girl i met at a lure. pokemon helped me get a girls number. is this real life?"

holy shit Oz is killing it right now

"goddamn, there were apparently still over 200 people chilling outside on the FIU campus as of an our ago "

"I was driving back to my place tonight through downtown and noticed a horde of people swarming around a bridge all shouting about a vaporeon sighting and made for the closest parking space I could find. The one I caught was only CP78 but it was absolutely nuts and awesome to see everybody literally coming together over one pokemon and having a good time."

"Two of my friends and I just drove around a small town near us for 2 hours getting pokemon, pokespots and gyms. At the end, we parked at a dead rotary to get the gym in the middle. This other group had been circling, but we thought they were gone. Then we hear a squealing. At first, I didn't think anything of it. "They're back", I joked. But then it got louder and louder, until we saw headlights behind us. They were coming to take back the gym. We pulled to the side and blasted the pokemon theme as they drove by and flipped us off. I love this game."

I looked up the nearby list and sure enough there was one 2 steps away so I took off running since I wasn't even close to enough candies to evolve my way to one. I found him at the edge of the water about 100 yards away and yelled to the group where it was. By this time I'm at 1% and I'm really worried I won't get him since it turned out it was 700 CP and I only have great balls and below. The first couple of throws get blown away but then I hit an excellent within the small circle and it stayed in the ball just long enough to see it added to the Pokedex before my phone cuts off. I was so happy and then I turned around and the 50 or so other players were all right there and everyone was yelling and cheering as they caught him. I caught him with 1% battery and another guy managed to snag him with his very last Pokeball. I love this game.

"12 am here & I was ready for bed, decided to have one last look at the game.

I saw it. Pikachu, only 2 feet away. Ran outside with hardly anything on. Just to have a car stop in the middle of the road. I thought they were wondering WTF was I doing but no. They got out of that car & caught that Pikachu with me. It was beautiful."

"So...I didn't install this until today because I simply don't give a shit about Pokemon. I haven't since I played Pokemon Yellow many years ago. Thought to myself 'I gotta see what this is about' Colour me shocked. The game is simple but incredibly fun. I had a hockey game tonight and half my team was running around the rec center to get to the pokestop, and there were about 20 other people there doing the same. Met a ton of strangers. Went for a walk later and caught 7, saw a whole bunch more people and even had a couple of nice conversations. I don't know how this thing will turn out, but it's a very smart idea that I'm shocked took this long to be done in a way that captures interest. It's also an amazing social phenomenon that I haven't seen in a long, long time. I expect this will be written about and discussed in the future by many areas of study"

How cool is it to have a game unite us in this massive social phenom? Crazy that a game is socialising people, getting them to do more exercise and even boosting small businesses. Even getting dates for people. I'm kinda wishing I had an android phone right now, with 4G, how would I even know if said phone was compatible? I could take my portable speaker, set down a lure and blast out the Pokemon theme song at top volume for shits and giggles.

Then pickpocket all these people engrossed in their games.
