So a Banjo approach?  Find musical notes anywhere and puzzle pieces are harder to find?

Again, I believe it was Nintendo’s way of making the game for everyone.  Everyone can get enough moons to make it to Bowser....for better or worse.

Yeah, I think that would have been better, at least for me.  Perhaps accessability was indeed a driving factor.  Then again, the game is still requiring that you beat the 'story missions' to advance, so it's not like you can reach Bowser just by exploring.

Been having so much fun going back and cleaning up on all the moons. Yes it's still uneven, it's not non stop greatness like galaxy. But damn the sheer variety on display in this game usb mindblowing. I already ran through these levels once, I am seeing so much crazy new shit. I did a fun arrange a picture game, I was chased by a trex while on a bike, I did some crazy move to get High times on the races, I did some awesome 2D levels. And yes I did some mundane stuff as well.

It's a mixed bag but it's the craziest most awesome mixed bag ever.

Yes, the t-Rex chase was fun!  All of the bosses were great.  I understand the complaints.  Yep, it’s easy, some of the moons should’ve been more challenging, but I just love exploring so much.  That’s why I loved BoTW so much too.  I’m the guy who will try to check every nook and cranny.  Galaxy is still my favorite Mario but this may be my second favorite.

Why are you guys talking like 3D World never happened? That was the last Mario platformer. How would you compare it to that? Personally I'd say 3D World is a much better game. But I'm glad they made Odyssey, it's nice to have some exploration. It feels like a love letter to Mario 64 to me.

Well cause galaxy is the best and I want the best. Yes 3d world was better than this as well. I prefer levels and constant platforming.

So where in the game are you GG? Have you finished it? The ending is maybe the best mario ending ever. They go full sonic, I was loving it.

That ending was great, but the after credits area is the best!

I didn't feel it was bland until you said it. And now I do. What have you done to me?

I’ll spend some time there tonight and maybe it’ll be better.  The after credits stuff is so good.  It makes me feel like I haven’t finished the game yet.

The beach kingdom is the first one I thought felt like a propper Mario world.  Same goes for the Boss.

I cannot tell you how awesome the after story content is. Some of these new areas are hell hard.  Like Mario Sunshine hard.

I immediately felt like Cascade Island was a great “traditional” MARIO World.

you know what I'm missing?  The 'dive' you could do after a jump.  Sometimes I think I pull it off by accident, but if it is in there, I haven't found out how to do it yet.
