It's not really much of an interest anymore, though every once in awhile I'll check in to see what's going on. And unusually a sucker for the Royal rumble and most years I check that out. However, in the late '80s and early 90s I was a huge fan, as well as during the attitude era. That nostalgia is still what drives some degree of interest in me today.
And fun fact, when I was a teenager in atlanta, I worked at a grocery store that was a couple blocks away from a place called Main Event Fitness which was a gym that Sting and Lex Luger owned. As a result I got to meet a lot of wrestlers who would come to our store for a couple things after their workout. By far, Randy Savage was the coolest guy I ever met. He actually would remember me from each visit and check in with me on how I was doing based on our previous conversations.
Yeah, big wrestling fan here. I don’t recall when I first started watching it but it was well before the first WrestleMania. I think it was when Hulk Hogan first showed up in WWF. Some of my early favourites were Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Jake the Snake Roberts, Demolition, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Undertaker. I’ve mainly just watch WWF at the time but now watch both WWE and AEW regularly. Current favourites are Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Kenny Omega, and Bryan Danielson.
I didn't watch much wrestling, but I did like the Hulk Hogan '80s cartoon when I was a kid.
Back when I was running cartoon panels at comic conventions, I always made it a point to show an episode of that. Always got a good reaction.
I pretty much love anything where there are sudden big crowd reactions. This was incredible.
There was so much promise circa 2012-2015 but man did WWE screw that up. At least we got the Daniel Bryan arc through Wrestlemania 30.

It's lucky I happened to see Daniel Bryan right as he became Heavyweight Champion in 2011 and watched his ascent (as absurd as that sounds, considering he just won a world championship). I remember when I first saw him, I was intrigued by the fact that this short, bearded man was the Heavyweight Champion. He quickly became my favourite, though I had no idea who he was.

Te_Rojo and a CM Punk fan from GameSpot have made me develop an appreciation for it. The latter forced me to watch the 2011 Money in the Bank match, and I have to say, I preferred John Cena in that match. :>
My favourite gimmick is Brock Lesnar overheating, and Antonio Honda's antics. My second favourite wrestler is the perpetual loser, Chie, and my most hated heel is Mei Suruga, who can only win a match by biting.
But my favourite wrestler is easily our lord and saviour, Death Worm. As you may be able to tell, while I'm not necessarily a wrestling fan per say, I am a big fan of Gatoh Move. Especially the janken main events.

From what I can gather (from never seeing even 1 second of wrestling) it is basically soap operas for guys that like only one sport. So when they cannot get their sports soap opera fix they watch wrestling. I have NBA/MLB so I never have a lapse period to fill.
I should further add, I really appreciate the showmanship, discipline and work that goes into the show of wrestling, it reminds me almost one for one of minor league baseball and then the MLB. I endorse pro wrestling as an interest.
I am not one of the ignorant people who simplify the endeavor as "wrestling is fake".
It's performance art more than anything really, even if some traditionalists would refuse to think of it that way. It also seems like the demographic of people who watch it has shifted quite a bit since the 80s and 90s (and thus also the wrestlers themselves). Today, something like Chocopro is remarkably different from something like 80s and 90s WWF (which is probably why Foolz is so into it). Weirdly, I don't know much about Bill Apter. Definitely know the term 'Apter Mag' but that's about it.

So there's this national wrestling promotion called AEW,and they're kind of a big deal because they've become the first major competition to the WWF/WWE in 20 years.
About a year ago they hired a big name wrestler named CM Punk who always had a reputation of being anti-establishment character and a bit of a real world pain in the ass. Outside of wrestling circles he's probably best known for quitting pro wrestling for a while for MMA, which turned out disastrous.
Anyway, Sunday night he won the heavyweight championship, and then about 30 minutes later during a press conference he picked a real world fight with a bunch of the other top AEW talent and company officers, by talking a tremendous amount of crap about them.
Afterwards all of them got into an actual fight behind the scenes in the locker room complete with throne chairs punches and biting. Now about half a dozen people have been suspended and the new champion is probably going to be fired.

I’ve been glued to a few of the wrestling YouTube shows like Cultaholic, Steve and Larson, WrestleTalk, and What Culture trying to get all the latest updates and what not on the situation. As a fan I’m just really disappointed with the whole situation because I really enjoy what Punk, the Young Bucks, and Kenny bring to the world of wrestling. I had just finished watching the All Out PPV on Sunday and was very hyped because MJF had just returned and Punk had won the World Championship title. They had some fantastic back and forth stuff on the mic previously and it was looking like we’d get some more in the future. Sadly that is probably not going to happen now. Punk is probably going to be gone now from AEW unless some very serious healing gets done between them which sounds very unlikely right now.
Tonight’s AEW Dynamite show was pretty good though and they did a decent enough job trying to get past this thing though.
That media scrum was so surreal. Seeing Tony Khan just sitting there while Punk went on that tirade was definitely something else. Dude must have been dying on the inside.

Dude.... The scrum was already really bad, but seeing Tony sitting there just kind of not knowing what to do made it 10 times worse.
I think Tony got his wake-up call that he needs to learn how to be a boss, instead of just letting all his wrestling buddies do whatever they want.

Who here watches wrestling? What do you watch? What did you watch if you no longer do? Who are your favourites?
I started watching back around 1998, getting into WWF and WCW. When WWF Raw moved to an inconvenient time and WCW died, I stopped watching but kept up with it through video games over the subsequent years. I then properly got back into wrestling in late 2011, watching WWE mostly (with a bit of Shimmer on the side). Now everything's changed and I watch AEW, TJPW and Gatoh Move. Trying a bit of Stardom, too.
My childhood favourites were Kane, Goldust, Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall and The Rock. Today, my favourites are Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega. I'll also have more short-term favourites (say, Yuka Sakazaki), but those are the two that stand out the most to me.
