A man with priorities.
1. Paper Mario: The Origami King
Story completed - 03/01/2025
Glad I decided to finish this after thinking about ducking out very early on. The combat system is a bit shit, but the exploration was great and it was very charming bar some awful sections.
2. XCOM 2
Story completed - 05/01/2025
Got wrecked on normal mode, so restarted on Recuit. Going to play again with the expansion on Normal.
3. Devil May Cry
Story completed - 13/01/2025
Finally got the elusive blue orb that was missing for like 4 playthroughs in a row. Yes, it was in the most obvious place.
4. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Story completed - 18/01/2024
Been a long time since I played this one. Still as ridiculous as ever. Damn shame we never got a followup.
5. Chaos Legion
Story completed - 20/01/2024
This was a blast from the past. I played the absolute shit out of back in the day. It's as spammy and clunky as I remember. So glad I read about the difficulty issues before I started as every enemy had about 20x the amount of health they needed even on easy.
Wolfenstein II is finished. Fun from start to finish. I really enjoy how crazy these games get.
I almost thought I was going to be the one to create this topic again.
1. Monster Rancher 3 [PS2] - 1st of January to 4th of January - Somehow less interesting than the first two. 7/10
2. The Case of the Golden Idol [PC] - 5th of January to 9th of January - A bit baffling sometimes but good mystery. 8/10
3. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty [PC] - 10th of January to 17th of January - Past a certain point this game becomes surprisingly easy. 8/10

Off to a fine start this year, thanks to the Steam Deck.
1. Pentiment. Developed by Obsidian. A flawless game and a unique gaming experience. Branching path narrative game in which you play the role of someone who investigates "who dun it" like mystery.
2. Late Shift. Developed by CtrlMovie. Another branching narrative crime game, but filmed rather than drawn. Not at all what I was expecting. Top notch gaming experience.
3. Firewatch. Developed by Campo Santo. Walking simulator/ adventure. Not sure how I feel about this one. Narrative was indecisive. Gameplay was meh. But it was different.
4. Doki Doki Literature Club. Developed by Team Salvatto. Again another unique experience. A game? It was abuot as interactive as a Choose Your Own Adventure book. I'd classify it as a digital experience more than a game as the interactivity, and the consequences thereof were slight. Unresolved what I think about it for now.
5. Aperture Desk Job. Developed by Valve. I've played this free game before, but not on Steam Deck, which is what it was developed for (as a showcase for what the Steam Deck and it's control were capable of). Well worth play8ing, just to see what Valve is capable of, and generally humorous.
6. 80 Days. Developed by Inkle. Yeah, there is a lot of game here. Plenty of replay value. Based on Around the World in 80 Days. Not my first play through, but the second go around certainly revealed a deeper game. You play the role of Phil Fogg's valet and choices abound about how you get around the world. Certainly recomendeded. IOS, Android and Windows. I had some trouble on Steam Deck though and would not endorse it on that format.
Some of the gameplay was also tweaked and smoothed out, but nothing real crazy was done. Overall, it's just a much better version of one of the original game boy games.
1. Hogwart's Legacy
2. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Finished two games in this month so far:
Although JK Rowling turned out to be a horrible human being, Hogwart's Legacy was (pun intended) magical. It was the exact kind of game I needed at the perfect time.
Guardian's of the Galaxy turned out to be great too. A bit of Uncharted, a bit of Mass Effect, throw in some MCU sensibility and you get an AWESOME game!
I'm dealing with a little bit of a loss right now and every game I play, every book I read, every movie I watch or TV show I binge... they all seem to have that as a theme... Fitting the Guardian's of the Galaxy seem to be playing a part in the Universe trying to tell me something!

I would give it a shot. The original was fine for what it was, but there's no question it did not hold up very well, mainly because of the very small sprites. Sprites. This ROM hack fixes all of that and makes it quite a bit more enjoyable. Plus, it's really a quick playthrough. I hadn't touched the game since the early '90s I think, and I still got through the whole thing in an hour.
And speaking of the Harry Potterverse, apparently the guy who played Neville in the movies lives somewhere in my town. My neighbor's daughter works at the one bookstore we still have in town, and apparently he frequents the store. So it's nice to see that he's well read. And now I can also say we have celebrities in this area who are other than professional wrestlers, which is still kind of cool on its own.

Started off feeling good, then it started to feel strong, a bit of a sting, but I kept at it for minute, sloshing around my mouth as much as I can and then sweet release. Mouth felt good as new.
oh the game... didn't care for it much. It's a straight story game, almost no gameplay and the little it did have was kind of meh. I get what it was going for and for some it will hit the right notes, not for me. Ill post the review later.
