All Aboard the Hype Train
I guess the Aussie moderator thing can be a battle between me and Foolz.
I'd say it'd be interesting to try get a podcast up before then - just a brief introductory thing and get some news discussion in there also. Do we have the capabilities to host audio files on the site Yoda?

There won't be a problem hosting audio files, though I think I may prefer to host them off-site rather than have large downloads tying up bandwidth. I'm thinking my FileSavr account with 250GB space will do well for that purpose.
I know you've done podcasts; do you have any recommendations on how to best go about doing one with each person in a different location? From what I've researched, it's looking like the best option I can see is just a Skype conversation and separate recording program such as MX Recorder.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileWhoops, forgot to mention something.
Assuming that we all have headsets and mics, we should be right to record our things directly into Audacity, export them as MP3's, then send them to whoever is editing/uploading the podcast.
Bit complicated...but it works. Just pray that no-one forgets to record...

BTW we should sign up for gamespress.
I think for Euro Moderator Bugs is the best, as Iga is crazy and I'm lazy. Can we get a taster of what the site will look like in advance You should post this on GG Weekly too so no one misses it.

MX Recorder was just an example. The problem with recording individually is that it would be a serious pain to edit them back together with the correct timing.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI have an article you could use for the opening of the site. I have it on MSWord. How do you want them presented to you Yo?
I can't wait to see the new site.
Questions:
1. No, I'm too lazy--er, I mean, busy.
2. No, mods are evil.
3. Hmm, none that I can think of.

Until we're at the new site, we can work through private messages on articles, but this gives me a chance to at least give an explanation of the process used on the new site.
Writers can choose to Write a new article or manage their previous articles where they can see theis statuses. The writer can make edits if the article is a draft or has been rejected for revision.
Any submitted articles can be viewed and edited by an editor (which to at least begin with will be just me) who can then approve/reject/request revisions. Rejected means the premise is rejected or it's just too poor and the article is just dead. If revisions are requested, there will be notes describing the required revisions. Once approved, the editor can select articles to become the new front page articles.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileNot sure how I feel about this editor business. How is it going to feel if I say for instance: Hey Edge, your article is pretty crappy so I can't approve it.
People are going to be pissed off.
People are going to be pissed off.
Yoda does not care is people are pissed off, he is purely driven by logic. Yoda would make a good editor!
The editing process is built into syndication. The design is that there is a static front page, so it has to be updated by vetting articles.
Revisions will basically only come when
-The topic or content is just inappropriate for whatever reason (unlikely)
-Something needs clarification
-The articles for the week have already been chosen, so rejecting for revisions allows editing before the next week's front page.
However unfortunate, there has to be some kind of control there.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI agree that there has to be control. I'm just looking into the future and imagining some ugly situations. I've read a few blogs in my time from friends that have been pretty bad or tired to read but you don't go about vetting them
Maybe I'm just too polite.

At present design, the front page content of blogs and reviews has been moved to your profile page, which itself has been much improved.

The VG Press
http://thevgpress.com
I can officially announce our new site as being The VG Press. Development has not been at all idle, and the site is essentially complete, leaving testing and minor adjustments.
Quite literally every aspect of the site has been evaluated and updated, including visual design, navigation, security, search functions, community, RSS, web standards, browser compatibility and just plain old new features. Everything.
So you're thinking, "How can I help?" Ah, I need you to answer three simple questions:
Writing isn't a commitment but merely the option of submitting an article should you wish. Moderators I figure one European/Austrailian and one North American will cover it -- basically all that needs to be done there is make sure there's no porn since ignoring that it's out-of-place here, it causes complications with Canadian law.
I also believe it was Iga who asked about transferring over content from Insert Coin. There will be no problem porting over every single piece of data.
November 2 - thevgpress.com - BE THERE
