This video is possibly the most hilarious thing I've ever seen

I still don't understand the process though. Do you just need a converter box? Is it better to just buy a digital TV?

I have the luxury of free basic cable where I live, but if I didn't, I'd just buy the converter box for my SDTV. My mom bought three of them for her house recently. She not only rsecieves double the amount of channels with over-the-air digital TV, but her picture is near-DVD quality too! Her free digital channels actually look superior to my Comcast cable. I'd much rather have those boxes or an HDTV than pay monthly for cable.

We are making the switch over here too. I would rather get an integrated one these days. Funny thing is though that a good signal will get you a cool picture but a weaker signal is probably better with your standard aerial cable and analogue signal. Otherwise you get artifacts, these square blocks as the decoder tries to read the signal.
