Listen, it's your fault for playing Devil May Cry 2 when everyone and there mother has told you that game is garbage. Play Devil May Cry 3, aint nothing about Yakuza up to snuff with DMC3, and you n I both know how much I love Majima.

If I played Devil May Cry 2 before playing Devil May Cry 3, the superior quality of Devil May Cry 3 is hardly going to stop me from playing Yakuza 4 before it! 
To be fair I think it's a good idea he played 2 before 3 since he'll experience exactly what we all went through back in the day. 3 is great and all, but it's even greater after the short and shit 2.

Read it. Interesting to get a good look at the game from the point of a fan and connaisseur of the genre, while still being informative enough for the general reader. Although the opening in which you express your love for the franchise does undermine the sense of objectivity.

Don't enable his behavior. You can see how amazing 3 is by the same virtue one can see why the first Devil May Cry is such a good game. About to finish it, but not sure if I'll start DMC3 immediately like I planned to, as my thumb is still recovering from a sprain; I was playing Y4 left-handed, now left hand + right index and middle finger and in all situations except Amon it hasn't been too much of an issue lol.
Cut your thumb off and learn to play with your other fingers. Devil May Cry is more important.
Tell him to skip 2. He gains nothing out of playing something so stupid for the sake of playing the whole franchise. I did that with Doom, and doom 3 sucks too much for that. I learned my lesson.
