Does the new visual style bother you? Does it get better?

What footage I've seen actually makes me miss the yellow filter, like footage of Jensen just makes me go yuck at how his skin looks now. Mother fucker is all pasty n shit.

He doesn't look pasty to me.  There's an obvious improvement in character models and Jenson actually looks slightly tanned during the takedown cutscenes.  It could be the room lighting.

So far it just feels very familiar.  I'm like Edge, just taking my time and enjoying the scenery.

Jensen does look a little weird at times...but considering he's basically part fuckin' robot I guess he SHOULD look weird. But the world itself looks awesome IMO. Maybe it's not pushing the most polygons of all time but the detail and art design is really good.

It's not so much he's a robot, it's just everytime I see footage of him talking to someone I can't not focus on how weird his face looks. He look extra white in comparison to everyone, maybe it's the douchy beard and how dark a shade it is in comparison to his skin, but shit just looks off.

Forgot to make this thread.

So this is basically HR+. It's mostly the exact same game. Mechanically it's identical and it feels old. Shooting is not good, the sound effects are terrible and the impact feels weak, I feel like I am firing a pea shooter. Animations are poor. You get those cutscenes every time you do a takedown. It just doesn't flow well.

But you don't play Deus Ex for combat you play to explore and find interesting ways to get through quests. I did that all yesterday and was having fun. It's classic Deus ex. I guess HR was so wow because it was the original brought to modern times, but now it's just like, ok, it's the same.

Kind of let down to be honest. The year of disappointments continue.

I was not a fan of the last DE, so didn't really have much interest in this one. From what I have heard they went into it thinking, "We almost nailed it with the last one, all we need to do is get rid of the boss battles".

I have been playing for like 15 hours and I have done like 3 Main missions. I am floored at the freedom offered to just do whatever you want. I have completed like 7 side quests and stumbled upon who knows how many areas that will be used for future missions. The city itself isn't that large but it is so dense. The level design is so damn good, there are always multiple ways to tackle any area. Vents lead from one section of the map to another often leading to surpirse discoveries. I went into a super secure bank and systematically hacked, stole, and snuck my way to the third floor and the CEO office without being seen.

There are some really cool storylines and nearly every location has some story too it. It is a bit like witcher in that regard where there is always some tale to be told even if it's just a random note. Unlike witcher though you have the gameplay freedom to truly explore and create your own path. I saw an open window way up high once, and there was a balcony in the building next to it that is lower but I still couldn't reach. I don't have high jumping but I have super strength so I grabbed dumpsters and created a bridge to get up. I was tossing dumpsters up to the middle balcony so I could reach the high one and finally get into the room with some good loot. Later I revisited that same area and now I have an Icarus dash so I was able to simple fly from the building across the street, that had easy access to the roof, right to that room. I love that freedom to make your own paths and discoveries.

I haven't even messed with the huge breach missions yet. I love looking for hidden triangle codes which is one of the best collectables in a game. In game it does nothing but use the Deus ex app and each code gives you access to developer commentary on that area or mission you are on, great stuff.

Combat still sucks but I have hardly fought anyone, stealth is too good. Yeah this is as good if not better than the first game. The only issue is how predictable the paths are becoming. Every time I go to an area I know there is a vent somewhere, or a computer to hack a door, or a hidden password somewhere. The design is great but it's so Deus ex that it's predictable.

I like turning on the washer & dryer in every apartment as a means of reminding myself where I've been.

I can't stop doing side missions.  It is too much fun fun to just simply explore.  Right now, I'm attempting to take down a cult leader, known as the pied piper.  Cool stuff, kind of reminds me of some Fallout missions.

I just finished the game....has anyone else beat it yet?

Honestly, the end took me by surprise. It kind of came out of nowhere....I totally didn't think I was on the last mission. It felt like a setup mission for ANOTHER mission...kind of like MGS5. This seems to be happening a lot this gen...are all these teams running out of time or budget before they can finish the damn game?

Anyway, there's things I like more than HR, and there's things I like less. Overall, I still think HR was a better game. But MD is still a great game.

I like it better than HR, actually.  The story actually interests me and I'm really enjoying exploration.  I'm not sure how far in I am it I just finished a mission where I convinced the ARC leader to provide information.  The gunplay just sucks and the clumsy way I aim accounts for about 80% of my deaths.

Shooting from cover is harder in this one than it was in HR. In the second half of the game I avoided frustration by using the invisible mod and stealth takedowns as much as possible.

Shit, I just finished the most surreal and frustrating mission.  My job was to sneak into a mafia run apartment, knock this guy out and hide him in a locker without being detected by armed guards or cameras.  No one can know I was even there.  So I first go through, knock out every guard, piece of cake.  Then I find the guy on the lowest level. I knock him out and then dodge the cameras.  My destination point is screwy so it appears I have to drag this poor guy out in the streets and walk around the back of this building.  I do this, dragging this guy in front of all these pedestrians, finally making to my destination.  Only there's a roadblock in my way.  I cannot throw this fucker over the block so I drag his ass back into the building to the second floor where there's a lift near the ledge that I can use to lower him.  I go to the ledge and drop him into the lift. I hop into the lift and lower down, only this guy's head is stuck in the ledge.  He's just fucking hanging there as I go down.  What The Fuck!  I finally free him, lower him down and complete the mission.
