The list is fine, it sure is a list of 100 generally well loved games. Don't agree with all of it but the majority feels about right, the order not so much.
So first what’s not there, not one 90s adventure game. No sim city game? I guess myst holds no love for the new generation. Tie fighter? A sports game, just one? No Gran Turismo game? Not one DMC game?! No Ninja Gaiden? Not one fighting game that isn't Street Fighter?! No smash bros game?
It’s one of those lists where they mix importance with greatness and there is no clear idea of what they are going for. RE1 made the list, sure that’s a very important great game BUT RE2 was better in every way, and the remake is even better. BOTW higher than TOTK, GTFO. GTA3 yes very important game, but VC and SA were way better.
MGSV ahead of MGS3 is a choice . They have Uncharted 2, MGS3 and Mario Galaxy 2 at 83,82,81, those are so much better than nearly the entire list. They have Xcom the original, then RDR1 then Xcom the new version, why so close, why both and Xcom 2 was better than the Enemy Unknown. FO3 but no New Vegas, yuck. I love FROM software games but nearly all of them on the list and that high, I don’t know about that. I still don’t get Bloodborne being so high.
Then you get the artsy stuff all over the list, immortality… reall? journey of course, don't care for it. What remains of Edith finch, didn’t play it but eh. Inside, it’s good but not top 100. Some odd ones like Outrun 2? Dishonored 2 in the top 40?
Then we have Zelda, no MM, no TP, damn. BOTW I know gets a lot of love but TOTK is clearly better than it in almost every way, you can't have BOTW at 1 when it got outclassed by the sequel.
The only game I see on the list that really needs to go the fuck home is Journey, and I think at this point in time I've used on that game are will established.
Adam Copeland's been busy. WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! over Dark Souls III and every Final Fantasy game bar VII. A list like this is inevitably going to be weird.
