I know I really shouldn't bother with a technical explanation, but...
Search engines are index by crawlers--programs that constantly scour the web for content. Page rank is based on several factors, an important one being number of links to a page. So while writing something in the forum can get it indexed, the more times it's linked to from other pages, the more likely it's to be crawled, stored and appear highly in a search.

How have 1,200 people added VGPress to their favourites list? There is like 50 people who use this site on a regular basis at most. Also looks like there is a huge number of lurkers from the US, because there aren't really enough searches to account for it all. Or maybe the US has an entire department devoted to tracking our activities.
Overall, the month showed continue growth for the site, and a tough target to beat for March. Meanwhile, we continue our strong search result references for the term "fapping." Bonus for "kung fu hong kong."
