Great inventions: How TV and movies got there first - books too, for the Luddites.
Star Trek invented the cell phone.
I also thought the air injections from Star Trek were coming, I heard in the 90s that they had them but I am still waiting on it.
Mobile phone concept was around long before Star Trek.

I just saw a tech program on how they were wirelessly powering things now. And it reminded me of the B.E.T aka the Broadcast Energy Transmitter device in the G.I Joe 80s movie which wirelessly powered anything they wanted to.
Can you think of other inventions where TV got there first?
Star Trek is a rich mine.
