You're definitely Kamela Harris in this scenario.
I listened to some of Elon Musk interviewing Donald Trump. Outside of the running joke about Elon Musk on the podcast (if it ever gets aired, that is), I had no previous thoughts on the man...but boy did he make Trump sound eloquent, coherent, and intelligent. WTF.
Yeah Elon doesn't come off as bright. But as my old boss says people don't find money, money finds people. Which is just one of the aphorisms he said that I could never make sense of but made sense at the same time.

David Duke looked better in comparison. But I suppose if a guy refers to himself as a black Nazi, you really can't expect too much.
Oh man, this one is crazy. I'm curious how this one turns out. I'm hopeful that North carolinians will not vote for the nazi, but its hard to tell these days.

From what I've read, the polls already indicated that he was going to lose before all of this stuff came out. I mean he was already kind of a nut job in the first place. But now the big question is how much worse is he going to do and is it going to affect the rest of the ticket?
Well, seems like the lid has finally come off of the middle east. It's a tragedy what's happening there, escalated by some extreme right Jews who make up the Israeli government and who seem to have completely lost it.
I heard a quote from some Isreali fellow, don't remember who but he wasn't anyone in power who said 'you can win each battle, but you won't win the war'. I think that's very true here. A lot of suffering will be caused, and while Israel will probably come out on top thanks to their military supremacy, it won't get them peace and will cost them so much in terms of international goodwill. Hopefully after this the West won't shy away anymore from criticizing Israel, because honnestly, they're a bunch of bullies who think they can get away with anything.

not sure if this is a slant against the power imbalance in the ongoing conflict, or a well meant attempt to give the correct quote. If it's the latter, I was not referring to any famous quote by some famous Israeli. It was just something I read in an article.

It was a comment on the purpose and nature of the violence, so more so the former. Ethnic cleansing is openly the goal of Israel according to public policy both in the long and short term, and numerous statements from a variety of government officials. Ethnic cleansing is achieved not through battles, but mass murder.
Personally I don't think it will cost them too much international goodwill in a way that matters. The closest comparison in recent history is apartheid South Africa, and while Western governments were in support of apartheid even though a lot of their citizens were not, South Africa being an apartheid state offered increasingly insignificant material benefit to them, so when people got super shitty about it there wasn't too much to lose by letting it fall.
Israel, on the other hand, is fantastic for Western governments. It's not only economically-alligned like, say, the Saudis, but culturally, too. All the better for tormenting the barbarians in the Middle East. And it has the even better added bonus in that it can be used as a Jewish scapegoat for enacting Western-backed and funded policy in the region. What's not to love about it if you're a Western politician? Let the Jews turn your own policies into a hysterical revenge fantasy so that they face all the flack for it. It's genius, and pretty in line with how Jews have been used throughout European history. Give them the dirty but necessary jobs, then blame them for carrying them out when you put them in that position in the first place! It's kinda funny if you think about it.
SupremeAC said:So what's election mania like stateside? It's becoming intollerable here with about half of the news articles focusing on the US elections. It's nearly a good thing that we've had the floodings in Spain to at least ofer a diversion from the news about the US.
It's been intolerable here for a couple months. I'd say that it's all going to blow over in just a couple more days, but it's going to be a very tight race. Accusations of election fraud are going to be yelled as soon as it's over. Trump even accused election fraud when he won the first time, because he thought there were some states that he should have won by more. Unless Harris wins by some dramatic unexpected amount, shit's going to go on for months over here.
On the bright side, my prediction was correct! That's the important thing.

Like the worst of it is behind you and you're out in the sun again?
Hopefully 2024 doesn't have its own Scott Morrison.
