There was a patch the other day that has improved the character's eyes and some bugs.

I've played some of the single player campaign and it's feeling like a mixed bag. Combat is ok, it's certainly no Gears of War or Vanquish quality but it can be fun. I don't feel like the story and characters are really drawing me in like the previous games did but it's early yet so we'll see. Right now I'd say that the game just feel uninspired and sloppy. I went with the default female Ryder and boy did they ever goof up her face. I was kind of hoping to play through more of it before they patched it up to get some chuckles out of its bugginess and freaky looking characters. Oh well.

It's a relevant question.  People complained about lackluster animation, others pointed to the fact that it's a huge game with 1200 speaking NPC's as an argument in its defence.

I found the notion of a game needing 1200 NPC's to be slight overkill.  So...  How many of those 1200 NPC's did you speak?

Most of the people are just window dressing, like in GTA or what have you. You have to go to new Planets and set them up with colonies...so when you do this you instantly get a ton of NPC's walking around and doing their thing. Most of them you don't even bother with. In that regard, it's really similar to every RPG of the past 30 years. Characters thrown in there to give the appearance of a living world.

Still on eos, I like the idea of more open areas but it does feel like an icon chase fest where you just go to points of interest and get something or fight something. Combat is still giving me issues, I die a lot on hardcore, I don't want to drop to normal. I just can't get in a groove, enemies seem to bullet spongy, I lose shields all the time. I can't really do tactics. It's still early but weird.

Why do you play on hard? I played the entire game on normal and almost every big fight I had to rely on my stealth cloaking to survive. You don't take that many hits to die, even with a maxed out shield.

Finished eos, got on my ship, back to the nexus and finally it feel a like the game is starting. Its Mass Effect, I really don't get the hate. Combat is fun once you don't die every few seconds and get more powers. The jet pack is so good. The explorable planet said are nice, they don't do much with them but it feels like I am exploring and not just on a small path. I'm liking it a lot.

Oh and multiplayer is damn fun.

I've mostly been playing multiplayer and it is fun when the servers aren't flaking out and you don't have a host with a laggy connection. The jet pack is quite cool and gives you some nice mobility. Sending strike teams on missions is neat as well. They gain experience and level up which allows them for better odds to successfully accomplish harder missions and acquire better rewards. Played some more single player but not really far in yet, I just acquired the Tempest and am on my way to Eos.
