"Our topics of the discussion run the gamut of gender roles, feminism, intertextuality, mythology, and the nature of strong characters and clever writing. We explore thoroughly what it means to be adults enjoying a cartoon meant for children"

My guess is that an adult enjoys the mythology, the strong characters, and the clever writing and pretends to enjoy the deep gender role exploration, feminism, and intertextuality? A child enjoys the same things, but doesn't pretend to enjoy what it does not?

I should note I did not listen to the podcast, nor do I have an interest in the content of it, nor that of any My Little Pony property. I just saw the podcast and thought it may be of interest to our horse-loving associate.
