A FLASHLIGHT?! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! A FLASH. LIGHT?!

ANYBODY WHO IS STUPID ENOUGH TO PAY MONEY TO HAVE THEIR DS SCREENS ILLUMINATED NEEDS TO BE BURIED 10 MILES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH WITH ONLY THEIR DS TO GUIDE THEM HOME.

THIS IS A NEW LOW!

I often use the DS Lite's screens as a flashlight. When I'm creeping into the bathroom for a stealthy nightime dump. Then I play a game whilst I'm waiting. Happy

Well I understand why they did it. The Flashlight app on the iPhone and on the Android are both extremely popular apps.  However. . . they're  FREE apps for those phones. So it's fairly ridiculous for Nintendo to think that anyone would pay for it, even if it's just $2.

And nice to see Bit.Trip FATE out. As much as I love the Bit.Trip series though I'm going to have to pass on this one.  These games are hard as hell and frankly I've almost always sucked at shooters.  I can't imagine playing a shooter that's difficulty has been ramped up to a Bit.Trip level.

@robio, it's not by Nintendo.

No it's not, but it does seem to be part of Nintendo's strategy to turn DSiWare into apps to compete with the iPod.

Who's laughing now?

http://www.news.com.au/technology/kid-gets-lifetime-nintendo-pass-from-mum-after-using-ds-to-save-family/story-e6frfro0-1225943270732

CHRISTOPHER Miszkowiec's mother used to nag her son to stop playing his Nintendo DS, but she would never dream of taking it away from him now.

In fact ever since July, when seven-year-old Christopher used his DS, a handheld electronic game console, to help free his trapped family from their crashed car, his mum Kathleen Wilkes says he can have anything he wants.

"Yeah it used to annoy me because every morning he'd wake up and wake me up at seven o'clock in the morning, and go 'Mum, can we play the DS? Can we play the DS'?" she said today.

"I'd never dream of taking anything away from him now, he deserves everything he gets."

The Miszkowiec family had been driving late at night on a country road near Heathcote, central Victoria, when they hit a kangaroo, crashed and rolled several times into bushland.

While father Wayne fought to get out of the car and free six-month-old baby Joseph, Christopher unbuckled his own seatbelt and five-year-old brother Dilon's seatbelt, helping him from the car.

Then, using the light from his DS screen to see in the pitch black darkness, he went to help his mother and freed her from her seat, where she had fallen unconscious during the impact.

"He said, 'we're all fine, it's alright Mum, I'm gonna get you out, I'm gonna get you out' and when he got me out it was such a relief, it was just amazing," Kathleen said.
