Bravo. ☺
I'm really liking this though there are obvious flaws. On my first planet, I immediately got attacked by drones. I had no choice but to sit in the cockpit to escape gun fire and work out the mechanics of the game. Right now, my I've developed a formula for hyperdrive but my ship is seriously lacking. I found one that has about 24 slot. My current goal is to raise enough money to buy it.
Dvader said:Reviews pouring out. Metacritic if 69. Sound about right. I say it’s a 6 at best. Others will love it many will hate it. I just don’t see anything good enough to say this is a good game, it’s not. It’s an interesting game, a repetitive one that’s missing any of the core elements that make the best games great.
I'm going to disagree with you, but only slightly. I'd say it's a 7. It's not a great game, but I do think it's good. The flaws will be obvious to anyone who plays it for an hour, but the sense of adventure and discovery it provides will make the flaws less glaring. Nothing like this(to this scope) has been done. This could be a template for others to further tinker with the formula. It won't be for everyone, but for those with a sense of curiosity and and exploration who don't mind the limited game play, this is going to be a blast.

I am in the flow of things, I built a new hyperdrive so I could jump multiple planets in my route for atlas shrines. But the biggest discover is the exosuit enhancements which are actually all over the place, they are on these pods on planets. Also every star base has one inside a locked door that requires an atlas pass level 1 which I aquired. When I get a item that actually moves me closer to my goal I feel far more engaged.
So the new hyperdrive took me to some different levels of stars, one system had the most beautiful planet so far, green rocks and a vast ocean. Plus I found agrees dive life forms so there was a sense of danger. This planet has all these red cubes everywhere and if I pick it up three sentinels come out to attack me, one is a new dog like sentinel. My gun is powerful enough to take them down easily but that combined with these damn insect things makes it difficult to get around.
These cubes are worth 30k credits each so this is free money everywhere. I noticed that if I grab two cubes no more sentinels attack, it's just the three. So I would do cube runs, I make a path between like 10 of them and run as fast as I can grab them all and run into a base to sell them. I made 2 million credits this way! It was fun, dodging lasers, shooting things in my way, just trying to survive.
Time for a new ship, let's go shopping. Oh a ship with 30 slots I need this and it's 9 million... I'm making money but I am not making crazy money. The markets aren't really buying high cost stuff at crazy increases so it takes forever to make money. Even the cube method is really slow. But I do have a new schematic for another hyperdrive maybe I should just keep heading toward the center.
i have the location of a black hole. I've met more and more aliens. I feel like there is definetly progress and I want to keep going. Still exploration isn't that interesting as I now know all planets are basically the same. I have learned to change my mentality, discovery doesn't exist, everything I find is repeated infinite times over and over, the whole point is simple finding what planet offers what you need to build what you want. There isn't some hidden magical temple or secret cave with expensive loot hidden in a cavern. Everything I find is repeated forever. Once I realized that I was more focused.
Multijumps? Can't you just make several warp cores for the same effect? And I can't wait for the exosuit enhancements. I'm tired of freezing my ass off looking for stuff. How do you guys make a lot of money? So far, I've sold a ton of gold and a couple rare items. Is there a really quick way to make money?
I had to work for my warp drive formula. It was underwater in an abandoned base.

Technically it's all over the place. That's just the one gives you a hint on.
Stardate Boredom
I am at my end with this journey. For a while there I felt there was a purpose, maybe some joy to be had in going deeper and deeper into the Galaxy but that is not so. Everything is the same, it's a universe of endless repetition. This feels like some cruel joke that I can't wake up from. As if some god hit fell asleep on the copy paste button and I somehow ended up inside his program.
It's an endless cycle of hyper jumping, going to the space station, get an upgrade, see what I can sell. Then I jump to a planet and the only joy I have is seeing what colors the planet has, oh the pretty colors you are my only shining light. Every planet has most of the same resources there are only a few variables that change, so I see if it has the resource I need for whatever I maybe upgrading next, if not move on. All that other stuff like landing at bases, looting pods, totally pointless, it's everywhere, on every planet. I have most of the schematics now so there isn't anything I am looking for.
Making money one of my goals and it's a slow arduous process. Some planets may have rare items that summons the sentinels, it's the same fight every time. Or maybe i decide to sit there and watch my mine beam slowly absorb a rock, yay. The markets are total trash, very little variation amount systems.
Space is horrible, every solar system has all the planets clumped together on one side so there are no actual orbits. Sometimes a pirate group attacks you with the same ships, sometimes I attack them because I need stimulation in my life. Again it's the same thing over and over. I am simply jumping from atlas interface to the next hoping for some conclusion to this mindless quest.
I wish I could just end my life but I keep respawning, this is some version of hell I am sure of it. I will just power onto the center where I hope this monotonous journey will end.
Look at this angry joe video, the evidence is DAMNING. You don’t even need to care about what he thinks. There is like 10 minutes of footage showing stuff that is not on the game. Murray in interviews straight up bullshitting away. It’s insane. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Have y'all made it to the center of the Galaxy yet?
I hear there's a giant Dildo at the centre.
Or Peter Dinklage in his undies.

I read a spoiler about it since I'll never play the game, and honnestly, it would have been better if it was Peter Molyneux.

Or Milo.
Yeah I just watched the spoiler video... wow. I mean fucking wow.... I haven't been that underwhelmed with an ending since maybe the 8-bit era.
Saw the Angry Joe review of this game which included what you get when you reach the centre of the Galaxy. Very disappointing indeed.
The only reason I got tis is because it's like 25 on steam over here. Hobo pricing for the third world.
