10. World of Final Fantasy -- Nostalgia is what does it for me on this one; doesn't hurt that it's cute as hell!

09. Street Fighter V -- Despite what people may say about the incomplete nature of this game, I love it still. There will probably never be a year where a Street Fighter is released that it doesn't show up on my Top-Ten list for that year.

08. The Witness -- Super intelligent, brain-teasing, genre-defining game that teaches you not only to think in new ways to solve puzzles but to just THINK alone!

07. Odin Sphere Leifthrasir -- One of the most beautiful 2D games of all time made even better!

06. Senran Kagura Estival Versus -- Irreverence is the name of the game here, but you know what? Sometimes you just have to let go and have F-U-N...! What started with this game turned into a first-half of the year deep-dive into Senran Kagura fandom. Don't let the boobies fool ya... Every girl is a hero in her own right and you just can't beat their infectious, positive attitudes!

05. The Last Guardian -- Games that make you feel trump almost everything else... controls got in the way a bit but an incredible game none the less!

04. Overwatch -- Blizzard doing what they do best; incredibly-polished, near flawless multiplayer, completely addictive. This one will be popular for years!

03. Pokemon Moon -- The ultimate evolution of the Pokemon formula. A pleasure to play and collect 'em all!

02. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End -- A fitting end to the Nathan Drake saga. Bonus points for the sexualization of a dude for once but I could have done without the political correct nature of Drake's "successor."

01. Dragon Quest Builders -- Nostalgia will begin and end this list. In a year where I've been VERY put off by Nintendo, something needed to fill the void of their former attention to detail and consistency. As iconic as the Mario noise of collecting a coin or the opening of a chest in Zelda, the fanfare at the start of a Dragon Quest game or the casting of a spell, the look of the monsters or the use of familiar items... Enix and Bird Studios appeals to your youth in ways usually reserved by the Big 'N'... Throw all this in together with a Sandbox, Minecraft-like world, while providing a story structure Minecraft never did... This could very well be a go-to game I can return to year after year when I just want to sit back, relax, dream of simpler days and PLAY. In what had to have been one of the toughest years of my life, this game appealed to me in ways no other could.
