So, it looks like a lot of us are going to be working from home or just not leaving the home for quite a while. So aside from such fine video game related podcasts such as GameUnder.net's show, does anyone have any recommendations of a podcast that might help pass the time?

I myself would like to suggest Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast - https://www.gilbertpodcast.com/

I'm well aware that Gilbert's comedy is rather hit or miss, but you don't really have to like it too much in order to enjoy his podcast. It's actually about celebrating the old entertainment industry. Most of the guests were relevant back in the '60s '70s and on occasion the '80s. He's had everyone on from Mike Nesmith of the Monkees to Dick Van Dyke. He also has more contemporary comedians and authors, but they're probably going to spend most of the time talking about things like classic universal horror movies, the Three stooges, the Marx Brothers, or a strange sexual fetish that Caesar Romero (Joker from the Adam West Batman show) had. And if you're worried that you won't be able to stand his voice, most of the interviewing is actually done by Gilbert's co-host, a writer named Frank. And Frank is extremely good at his job. The entire back catalog of the show was available on Spotify, and probably any other streaming apps as well. Highly recommend you give it a browse and find something that appeals to you.

Also, there's another great podcast, though it is inactive at the moment, called Cocaine and Rhinestones. It's about the darker and seedier side of classic country music. Now I'm not a fan of country music at all, but the kid who does this show does a lot of deep research and turns out country music is just as awful as rock and roll and the regards of what goes on behind the scenes. It's also very compelling. If you like stuff like VH1's old show Behind the Music, but less sanitized, this is something to check out.

On the comedy side, I'll recommend Conan O'Brien needs a friend.  It's mostly interviews with comedians that Conan has known throughout his career.

I don't actually listen to podcasts, only the rare release of a Gameunder podcast.  I find listening to podcasts to be too distracting while working.  I much prefer to just have the radio on, where interviews, music and news updates don't require the same level of attention from me.

I recommend VORW. It's a one man show, and the host is one of a kind.

The only other podcast I listen to regularly is the Melbourne Victory podcast, which grew from one of the most awkward, amteurish things you've ever heard into a genuinely great show. But I don't think it would have any appeal to anyone who doesn't follow Melbourne Victory, or at least the A-League.

I also listen to the occasional episode of Gagan's podcast, but the shows have got too long for me to listen to them regularly. (Anything over an hour is pushing it!)

Gagan has a podcast?  Foolz, Gameunder is usually more than an hour which prevents me from wanting to listen a lot of times.

I usually don't listen to the Game Under podcast, either. But I still wouldn't listen if it was shorter. Nyaa

Most recently our shows have been closer to an hour (when I am on).

No Agenda is a media deconstruction podcast where they do analysis on news reporting.

Giantbombcast & Giantbombcast after show are a way to get gaming news and to a lesser extent Giantbeastcast.

I still listen to IGN's Gamescoop which is always under an hour.

How I built This is a show about how companies were formed which you can pick and choose which companies you are interested in.

PBS Newhour has a segment by segment download so you can pick what stories you are interested in. They are not as good as they used to be, but still a good way to catch up.

All of the C-SPAN podcasts are good. But their one hour show Washginton Today is agood way to get straight news with no editorial.

Windows Weekly is good if you are interested wnough about what Microsoft is up to.

Baseball Tonight is not the audio from the show but a distinct podcast. Bit on the long side, but if you lke baseball.

I also download Handel in the Morning Early Edition which is a half hour news segment from LA radiostation KFI. Keeps me in touch with minor news (like who has died that would not make it to international news) and So. Cal local news.

Desert Island Discs backlog is great, but their current shows are all C-list celebrities.

I listen to about the first 30 minutes of the Bill Burr podcast.
