I know one of them is Puzzles & Dragons.
This is where it starts to get REALLY tough to eliminate games:
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (PS4)
The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition (PS4)
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)
Fallout 4 (PS4)
Just Cause 3 (PS4) -- Super-FUN, but not GOTY worthy!
DariusBurst: Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Tales from the Borderlands (PS4)
Axiom Verge (PS4)
Dying Light (PS4)
Terraria (3DS)
SteamWorld Heist (3DS)
Two games added to the list at the last moment! One, I could actually see being someone's GOTY, the other probably not at all!
Reminds me to play Talos Principle. Speaking of GOTY, last year's GOTY, Jazz Punk is coming to PS4. Everyone has to be jazzed about that right? Right?
Is one of my eliminations controversial, or does everyone feel the same?
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4) -- Was it GREAT? Yes. Did I finish it this year? Yes. Is it one of my GOTY? No. Once I was done, I was done. The DLC was one of 2015's biggest SCAMS. Too much use of the Batmobile in boss fights. You barely fought any bosses. Impressive, technically, but ultimately just another Arkham game.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (PS4)
The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition (PS4)
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)
Fallout 4 (PS4)
DariusBurst: Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Tales from the Borderlands (PS4) -- I am ABSOLUTELY, 100% sure that some sites and gamers will give this GOTY. It's a shame I barely even played the 1st episode so far. Truly one of TellTale's best!
Axiom Verge (PS4)
Dying Light (PS4)
Terraria (3DS) -- Terraria is an EXCELLENT game on most systems. It's great to have a portable one, but it's not quite as accessible as the others.
SteamWorld Heist (3DS)
Agree with Batman. The lack of boss fights hurt it big time. There's was also way too much tank combat.
It pains me to take these off the list:
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (PS4)
The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition (PS4) -- I don't have much patience for puzzle games normally, but the themes, graphics, music, story... EVERYTHING about this game is top notch. YES, it actually IS on the list for GOTY on at least IGN's site!
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)
Fallout 4 (PS4)
DariusBurst: Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Axiom Verge (PS4) -- I love everything about this game; from the concept to the graphics, it's an homage of the highest caliber. I just haven't had time to play it all that much and if you step away, you are lost.
Dying Light (PS4) -- EXCELLENT game, a bit buggy at launch, but some would consider it GOTY worthy. For me, I'll be picking up the Enhanced version that comes with the new, hefty DLC in February.
SteamWorld Heist (3DS) -- Could have been a contender had it come out earlier, but for now, I'll just have to settle playing a great game, not praising it.
Last elimination:
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (PS4) -- I love seeing a field full of Dragon Quest monsters in 3D & HD in motion on the PS4. Boss battles are equal parts epic and nostalgic. When it comes down to it though, this game isn't as feature-filled as Hyrule Warriors! Although there are RPG elements that make up for the lack of content, it still hurts it just enough to knock it off my list... but just barely!
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)
Fallout 4 (PS4)
DariusBurst: Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Before anybody goes and tries to guess my GOTY, care to try and guess which two games on this list got the MOST gameplay-time from me throughout the whole year?
