WTH? RE3 does not suck. Granted that water treatment puzzle sucked, but the rest of the game was great!

RE3 was the same thing as RE2, so how could it suck?

BTW....very disappointed that nobody LOLed at my Dvader quote.

Finished Claire A, what an experience. Lets start from the beginning, the intro movie, which is fantastic. I remember at the time of release the CG was like incredible now its ugly.

What a way to start a game, right out in the middle of the streets of Raccoon City. When you play the first game and then play this one and the first thing you see is that scene, with all those zombies, fire everywhere, its such an improvement over the simplisity of the original. RE2 looks better, I love the way the characters move, I think its the most fluid of the games, the speed at which they run is perfect. The amount of enemies is increased, the animations are increased, the amount of weapons are through the roof, it just improved upon the first in almost every single way. Oh and the music, wow what a soundtrack! Even the voice acting is leagues better than RE1.

So the start is a fun romp through the streets of RC, I love the backgrounds, they did a great job. In the area of the bus, before you enter it, there is like a resturant in the bottom the screen and there is this guy dead on a table, he has these things stuck on his back, I dont think I ever noticed, are they knives?

The RPD is such a great location, its hard to top the mansion but RPD is almost as iconic and well designed I think. It's filled with all sorts of scares, hell the whole game is, easily the best scares of the series. And some are imaginative too, like outside the RPD in that power station, when you open the door, the animation comes up but a bunch of zombies come at you. Then they just play with you, like you see glass, so you know something is coming out but it doesn't (well until the next scenario). Or the hands through the wood barracade, awesome. It really captures the feel of a zombie infestation. The zombies themselves are so much more interesting cause you can tear them apart. Once I was getting bit, I pushed him off and his hand stayed grabbing on to my sholder, love that.

BTW who is Michael and why does he have a festival on the 29th of September? Nyaa

I love Chief Irons, so creepy his whole story and that dungeon room. He delivers one of the best lines of the series, "Everyone's gonna die!" Then you go off into the sewers, to the different Umbrella stations, on the tram car with the excellent Birkin boss fight (the music!!!), giant alligator, spark gun, Anette's story, it feels like a grand adventure.

It all leads into the Umbrella lab, one of the best locations in all the series. I love it when you restore power, open up that one shutter and the plants rise up behind it. Then there is that ladder room with that HUGE plant thing on the side, classic case of a lab gone horribly wrong. Oh and the moth room, the eggs all over the outside, the creepy ass inside. You got lickers coming out of the ceiling, plants all over (which you can turn poisonious, I love that the game tricks you), then the self destruct sequence goes off and that music starts up, what a rush! This game is freaking epic!!!! I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

I don't think any of the classic RE games matched the intensity of RE2. Also neither of them pushed the series so much, even with all the big graphical jumps we had, none of the games had as big a jump in the overall scale and gameplay as RE1 to RE2. It's simply a masterpiece.

And I am only half way done with the full story, woo! Time to do Leon B and play the true genius of this game, the alternate scenario.

Oh and my final stats were 3 hours 30 minutes, no deaths. B rank.

I will get a lot more in depth about RE3 when I reach it but it does not suck, its misunderstood. RE0 is the sucky one in the main series, but thats probably cause of the time it came out.

No. Its because the backstory could have been awesome, and instead its the worst story of the entire series with some dude made of leeches.

It also doesn't help that the two-character gameplay idea sucked, and taking out the item boxes with a solution of dropping shit on the ground was a bad move if ever there was one. Oh yeah, and they didn't throw in Crimson Heads even though it came out after REmake (which totally blows Zero away).

I suppose if Zero had come out before REmake it would have been more acceptable, but it would still be known as the worst game in the series that got a pass on pretty graphics.

It didn't even have the emergency items like the small knives in REmake right. WTF happend to that game. RE0 does suck. I dont even want to play it but I will force myself too.

LOL, same thing I did.

I don't buy the whole "well that gameplay style just got old, that's why it wasn't that great" argument either. Because when I go back to play REmake I have a fucking blast.

The game just didn't measure up. I'd still like some traditional games in the series to be made, by the right people. If Mikami said tomorrow they were gonna get together and do RE2 up like REmake, I'd be happier than a pig in shit.

I LOLed but it was so vulgar I couldn't LOL

RE3 sucked crap out of a owls butthole. Jill V running about in her clubbing gear, then Carlos was crap and the running monster Dildo breaking in random rooms and shouting STARS. Awful.

RE0 is a quality game just annoying 2 player mechanic and by then the rigid camera angles and archaic controls seemed.... archaic. REmake had the old nostalgia element and improvement of visuals from the original.

I thankfully played RE3 on Dreamcast which had eight selectable costumes to start the game with. I chose her RE1 outfit. Happy

You're nuts if you think Zero is better than Nemesis.

You know the second snake fight and how it creates a hole in the ground that leads to the underground section, why in the hell is there a grave in a room that has no exits but to go down into the basement  and is under the floor of another room. Why is the ladder from the basement there, you climb up the ladder and end up in this enclosed tiny space with no way out. Every other part of the house at least makes sense, this one doesn't.

A mansion where most of the rooms are either booby-trapped, and/or only accessible through solving puzzles makes sense to you?

Anyway, I already played through REmake, RE2, and part of RE3 a couple months ago, so I'm not feeling nostalgic enough to play them again. I always like watching how other people play them, though. You should record or stream your playthroughs.

Well the rest of it is at least somewhat logical. Its funny that Dvader brought that up, because I've never thought to myself yet every time I play RE1, I think the same thing; WTF did they put this dude's grave in the middle of a house for?!

I guess it prevails in being totally creepy, though.

What I meant was that every other part of the house at least connects to each other like an actual building, its there are no sections where there is an empty hole where something should be. All doors lead somewhere, all rooms you can get in and out of, except this one.

Finally finished scenario 2 final time was 2 hours 47 minutes, 0 deaths. I have yet to die in this run but I think it may end in the next game cause Nemesis is a badass.

I love the 2nd scenario, I love the alternate routes you take, the new bosses you encounter, not to mention playing the game as the other character gets you a whole set of new weapons and a new storyline. I love how things on the first run effect the second like if you used the shutters in the police station. I love you see things that happend off screen the first time, like how did that helicopter get there. I love how the game plays on your expectations from the first scenario to deliver new scares. Its pure brilliance.

Then there is Mr. X, the Nemesis before Nemesis. I never knew much about him when I first played the game, he was a shock, who is this huge guy?! There was no enemy like him, this guy that sort of stalked you all over the place, it was freaky. He has what I consider to be the greatest scare in RE history, the kool aid wall burst. But not just once, he does it again in the hallway, when he did that on my first time playing I jumped out of my chair and hid, I was paranoid from then on cause no wall was safe. It was so great to see the Tyrant in its finished form.

After the RPD I love the new path you take, the different route through the lab with all those new locations. There is the all new boss fight on the tram which has to have the hardest version of G. He got me in this super slash move, yikes. One of my favorite moments is when you go into that control room in the tram shaft where you look on the monitor and Mr. X shows up on the screen, genius.

Leon's story in this game is fantastic and even better in Leon B. The Ada love story is more fleshed out and you get that great kiss scene at the very end.  Ada is heroic in Leon B almost giving her life for Leon... which is not like her at all, in fact the way she acts in Leon A is much more Ada like. But I rather have the better drama. I love the overall story in this game, probably the best in the series.

Leon's set of weapons are so great. Its the first time you find parts to upgrade your gun which becomes a staple of the series from then on. The super shotgun has to be one of the best weapons in the entire series.

One thing I noticed in this run, the music in that lab room where you had to put your fingerprint of both to unlock, its fantastic. Its such a rare room, why does it get such a great piece of original music.

Great final boss fight against the Tyrant, it was like the first game except this guy was faster. So you get in the train and the game is over... nope, I loved that moment, when you realize holy crap there is something new at the end. The G monster shows up and its huge, the fight was easy but still impressive. The real final movie is epic, with all the characters climbing around the train trying to get it to stop before it blows up. Love the last line.

RE2 is still my favorite of the old RE, and this run just reconfirmed it. It did everything right, it got the balance right of how RE should be. It still unique in that no game really has the swapping system this game did. A masterpiece.
