I'm holding off for now because I have so much else to play. But when I see it on the cheap, it will be mine.

Indeed, and I’m a huge Spider-Man fan at that.

One is action adventure with freaking Spider-Man, the other is a JRPG.
So a few hours in, first hour is all story and tutorials, super exciting segment that feels like a movie. The presentation especially the music has the marvel full down perfectly. Swinging is a blast, you are Spider-Man, easily one of the better traversal systems in an open world super hero game. Combat is arkham with a twist, it's more offensive oriented as there is no counter attack, only dodges. It is a fast paced version of the combat as spidey is faster, covers more ground and can do arial combat. His gadgets and special suit powers seem to add new options but I haven't unlocked them. Mechanically game is fine if familiar.
The city is alive but the side content so far has been bland and by the book. I can see the ideas from other games added in with a new coat of paint. We have towers, a bunch of random collectibles, taking pictures like in batman. There are also these puzzle mini games that feel so out of place, it seems mostly optional but I like to do everything so I will be doing a bunch of fake bioshock hack puzzles.
So far it's a by the book open world superhero game that plays great and feels like a marvel movie.

I'd really like to get Mario Tennis Aces, but I can't bring me to do so untill they patch in the option to play full matches. Nintendo already patched in the option to play a full set, so at least there is hope.
Bought this since I will be hunkering down for a very rainy weekend. It certainly makes a great first impression. I loved the first mission.
Then I get to the lab and run into those Bioshock puzzles. holy shit.
Yeah, it’s certainly the Arkham formula with a Spider-Man skin. That’s not really a bad thing, just goes to show that there’s not much new here. I’m really enjoying the combat and I hope it’s a lengthy game. I’d love to read some lore like the spirit of Arkham stones.
This is one of those production values and story are so good games that it's going to get a high score no matter what. The base gameplay is fun as hell, it's great, but it's also as generic a super hero game as it gets. The sides missions are bottom of the barrel stuff, chase a pigeon! 12 times! Fight the same groups of enemies over and over! Find clearly MARKED stuff. Everything just centers around the same base mechanics and they never evolve past that first layer, as if I am in a continuous tutorial. In contrast batman starts to use all his gadgets in cool puzzles, the combat and stealth mechanics evolve with the introduction of new types of enemies plus the super deep challenge modes.
But again, it says like playing a marvel movie and thats awesome! Gagan will hate this game, most will enjoy it very much.

wtf?
Finally finished the story, wow what an ending. As far as ending cutscenes go this is up there with some of the all time great game endings. I would say it's no more emotional than any Spider-Man movie. Great game, a bit backloaded with bosses but it makes the last hours very exciting.
marvels greatest hero gets the Arkham treatment! Excellent reviews across the board this should be his greatest game easily. I'm going to get this now be back later.
