This game is fantastic. Just so much Nintendo quality to it. The campaign could be way better though, mechanically this game should be GOTY quality single player but Nintendo cheapened out with the campaign. But man best multiplayer in years, this shits all over CoD and battlefront.

The two map thing is still the dumbest shit ever.

I thought there would be more than one game to play in the load screens.

The single player campaign was pretty worthless in my opinion. I played it for about 15 minutes and then put it away for good. The multiplayer is too damn fun to stop anyway.

That's a shame, the final boss is the best boss fight in years.

Ehhhh, if I want a great boss fight I'll boot up Monster Hunter. In 5 minutes I can get into an epic battle and spare myself all the tedium that the Splatoon single-player mode makes you endure..

Personally I think Nintendo just didn't want to invest in a large single player experience.  This is a new IP, Nintendo didn't foresee it doing as well as it did.  Expect a beefier single player mode in the next installment in the franchise.  If this doesn't end up going the Pikmin route, where we'll be lucky to see a new game every 10 years.

Speaking of Monster Hunter, would you recommend MH4 to a newcomer? I didn't find the demo very engaging but then again, I didn't play it for more than 10 minutes.

I didn't play it. I think Leo did. Honestly I don't think 10 minutes is enough time to judge Monster Hunter. It's a fairly complex game. Personally I've held off on it because I don't like playing action games on a handheld device. I need a real controller.

I don't think it'll go the Pikmin route. It's shaping up to be the second best seller on the Wii U, only behind Kart. No way will Nintendo sit on this one.

My main gripe is that everything looked tiny and blurry as fuck. Not much excitement to hunt legendary leviathans when they are so small.

Blame the Japanese and their love of handheld gaming.  Lord knows I don't understand it.

IIRC it was conceived and developed as a multiplayer game all around the turf wars content. Then Nintendo insisted the devs put a single player mode in. It's more platformer than TPS, I hope the next game has a story based campaign with environments more like the multiplayer maps.

I don't think I'll be able to join this Saturday.  It's the missus' birthday, and I fear she will have other plans between 11:00 and 12:00 PM.

That'll never work

I'll just have to drug her.

Vader? Travo?

I saw Robio and Iga online today. Couldn't jump in.

Not sure I'll be home when you are on tonight.  My son is in an afternoon Christmas parade then we are going to see some Christmas lights.

I might be in some unranked trading turns with my son in a few.
