Are we playing ranked battles? I'm not level 10 yet.

I was about to ask about that. Are squads only for ranked battles?

If so and people aren't 10 or over and if people want to play turf war instead of Splat Zones and Tower control. We have to just do a private battle, where we would probably have too few people.

Or.... we could just all jump online at 21:00 UTC into turf wars and use the [Join friends] option

I say we do that. Agreed?

So we'll just join friends in turf war right? I'll stay on for an hour, if I drop out it's just to change weapons. I'LL rejoin next match.

I'm bailing that was fun. Why was always stuck with shitty teamates though? If you factor out the 300p bonus for winning I was top 3 every match. Anyway my butt hurts. Time for arnica

It was fun I was usually close to you in points I got kicked out once. But I finally made it to level 9 during the hour.

When I got kicked out I bought a weapon but I sucked with it so two rounds later I had to switch back.

Ninty, who were you? Were you Cole? I had a great couple of rounds. I think I was top scorer most of the time. I tried to play agressive and breach enemy territory. You completely slaughtered me that first game though.

I was HALberdier.

Edit* Oh you were Yannick, I had to look you up because I didn't have you on my friends list.

You killed me a lot in that hour sometimes five times a match.

Morning all.

Last night was excrutiating, all day my wrist pain played up then when it ended my butt starts hurting? Well it was the upper back thigh to be exact just below the buttcheeks but damn, it hurt. It felt like someone was jamming a ragged rock into the back of each thigh while I was trying to play.

Thanks for showin up guys, it was fun. Aspro, good to see you, you were 44 minutes late.

So I hope that everyone can be over level 10 so we might try ranked battles next time?

I'm really starting to hate Arowana Mall, it's become like the old Urchin Underpass where if someone holds the middle ground it's near impossible to win the match. I found myself doing kamikazee dives into the middle area just to break the war of attrition and then surging forward into enemy territory, just hoping my team would get a clue and move forward too. It worked a couple of times and a couple of times the othe team just went to ink our territory while we inked theirs.

You were crazy good, splatted me a lot BTW. angry I see you use the 52 gal? I usually go for the 92 gal, but only for ranked as the fire rate is too slow for turf wars. I notice the fire rate is much better on the 52 for inking turf. I tried it the other day but I was annoyed with the deployment time of the killer wail. You can't whop it out and fire it quickly enough if someone pops up in front of you. But I learned you should just use it as soon as you have it. It's pretty annoying now it charges so quickly and yet the inkzooka which I'm forced to pair with, with my Aerospray or Tentatek Splatershot has been nerfed so life has been made harder for me and easier for 52 gal users.

I'm not quite sure how the scoring works sometimes. Sometimes I end up with a lot of kills, a lot more than other people in the match and it's only because I've killed so many that my team has been free-er to ink turf. But in the end because I've spent more time defending or fighting back the other team and less inking turf I get low scores when the only reason we've won is because I've forced back the other team. There was one match in Saltspray when I went to the big area at the top of the map, was suprised that the entire opposing team was in that area and I managed to kill them all within a minute and ink all the turf. Then when the match was over, I saw on the map my team had done fuck all in inking the rest of the map.

Anyhow I had a bad run, I think I only won 2 matches and that was when I was paired with Supreme aka Yannick. I think if we were all on the same team we'd do pretty good. Has anyone tried squad matches with friends? Are you stuck on ranked battle modes only or can you elect to playon turf wars mode, whilst keeping on your team?

I learned something pretty important during the Squadhour - you can duck out, switch weapons then rejoin the same group without having to wait for the next match - you just have to be quick enough. So practice switching weapons from the lobby screen and get used to it and you can change your weapon between matches.

Fun times guys.

I use the .52 almost exclusively.  It gives you a good fighting chance when you happen upon someone unexpectedly, while having some very usefull secondary weapons.  The splat wall is ideal to stall opponents or give you an advantage in a skirmish.  If I see someone ahead of me on a narrow stretch, I'll whip it out to shoot at them from behind the safety of the wall.  If I'm trying to keep the opposing team from reaching a certain area, I'll deploy it in a bottleneck.  If I'm being chased I'll throw it, try to make it past it into safety, turn around and start shooting back.

The Killer Wail I don't use directly as an offensive tool, but more as a support for the whole team.  I'll fire it off in such a manner that it covers as large of an area as possible in hopes of splatting foes  that might be locked in battle with my teammates, or at least disrupting them and giving my team an advantage.  It's also great on narrow course lik Mackrel Harbour and Mooray Towers.  And you're right, there's little point in saving them up.

You got me a lot with the .92gal though.  Most of the times I didn't even see you coming.

I had some success with the weapon I used at the beginning of the hour it was my first time using that weapon since I bought it just before E3. I switched to the Krak-On Splatroller and I was horrible with it.

Good tips.

I only used the Aerospray and Tentatek splattershot. I think I switched to the .52 gal for one match when I saw how well you were doing with it. I get a lot of kills with the .92 but it's useless for inking turf.

What happened in the first match? We wiped out the map, almost completely.

What level is Aspro?

Can we play turf wars as a squad?

I know Aspro's was above 10 because I kept looking at the levels when we played and I know I and that Cole person were the only one below level 10.

I looked up Squads and you can only play Ranked battles in Squads.
