See? Thursday! What did I tell you? Seems as though those leaks were spot on.

I can't believe they actually put the number 2 after it. I was expecting either a completely different noun or something like Switch Plus.

Simpsons screenshot of Homer talking to Mr. Burns at a table for the Power Planet model contest, but instead of a Power Plant, it's a Switch 2, and Homer says, Basically, I just copied the Switch we have now

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile

People are theorizing that Mario Kart 9 will have 24 simultaneous players online. That would be crazy.

It's already tough to win an online race.

So I guess it really does have an i inch screen.

Whomever modelled it must have gone by the visible screen size and didn't realise it has huge ass bezels.

I didn't realise how important backwards compatibility would be for me with Switch 2.

I hardly ever play old games on their successive systems.

The difference with this is that, it's not only a handheld, allowing you to take your whole collection with you in a cartridge case.

It's really the amount of digital games I've bought on sale and can fit on a large micro sd card.

Thinking about carrying my whole collection around, having the kind of instant access that digital games allow. Pairing that up with the super fast loading times the new sd express card format will allow. That's tantalising to me.

Then you have the 1080p screen with more powerful specs. So instead of jaggy 720p or sub HD, my games should be 1080p, especially for all the 2D games I own.

DLSS will probably help a lot with 3D games like Doom.

Backwards compatibility has always been important to me since I like to go back to my old favorites frequently and having fewer systems hooked up is nice.

Lol at the Digital Foundry video, best take I've seen.

Mario Kart 9 shown with no DLSS and no anti aliasing, looking like it runs on OG switch.

The 24 player thing. Reminds me of F Zero X on N64, they chose more vehicles over better graphics.

If the MK9 single player has 24 karts on track at once, that would be too much for me. I need less chaos in my life these days, lol. I'd prefer Mario Kart to move more towards Gran Turismo.

Kids will love it, though.

On Switch Online MK8 I can't even regularly make it into the top 3 and I'm pretty good at the game.

I loved playing Mario Kart Wii online. It's the only online game I ever really enjoyed. I couldn't get into MK8 online, though.

Same here. Also systems can break down so having backwards compatibility gives me peace of mind.

Developer Matt on Famiboards said:

Can’t talk about specific numbers, but while the CPU is probably the squeakiest cog in the machine, I wouldn’t call it a “problem” really. Especially not for non-ports.

To put it simply, I haven’t heard anyone making a game ground up for the S2 complain about the CPU, but I have heard of some teams porting software having to put a bit more work into optimization for the CPU vs how relatively easily graphical resources can scale to the GPU. But nothing egregious, and not really anything outside of what you would normally expect going from a comparatively power hungry x86 chip to a mobile ARM.
.

Edit: more context

"At the end, I think Porting PS5 games to Switch 2 will be way easier, then porting PS4 games to Switch"

"This is absolutely correct, and It’s not close."

Replied Matt

https://tech4gamers.com/nintendo-switch-2-equipped-with-5nm-nvidia-tegra/

Well this is weird, apparently a document leaked from a Financial company with detailed Switch 2 specs.

It says that it's a 5nm chip and roughly equivalent to the rtx 3050.

But the core count sounds off and why would this company even have these details?

What reactions have you seen on the Internet to switch 2?

I've seen some saying it's boring and lamenting the end of fun toy like consoles.

Some just saying it's boring.

I this is all a result of revealing such little info on the system. I expect hype to rise when games are announced.

Some people are really happy that it's backwards compatible.

Some were underwhelmed, but most were just disappointed to have to wait until April for any solid information.

Seeing some say that Nintendo played it safe with the Switch 2 but that it is a good thing. I’m in that camp.

Most of the podcasts I watch on YT seem to be quite pleased with Switch 2. One even suggesting that Nintendo has finally perfected consoles.

I'm a bit meh at the moment because they didn't show much gameplay, and MK9 clips shown might even be the Switch 1 version for all we know, lol.
