Metroid Prime 5 has been leaked by Nash Weedle, same guy who leaked Metroid Dread and Mario and Luigi.

Says its in co-development with Prime 4 and is set to release in 2027.

It's vertically focused and gravity is the main mechanic. I call bullshit at this, the only really tall bit in a Metroid game was that overlong underwater sequence.

It was annoying and boring.

A lot of the PC comparisons have been brought up as analogues to docked NS2.
The GTX 1630 I posted here earlier I just realized may be an interesting rough (rough) approximation of handheld mode Switch 2, with a 1080p target.
(rough)

To recap: 512 cores * 1845 Mhz * 0.000002 = 1.88928 TFLOPs, no DLSS, Turing
Compared to NS2 mobile 1536 * 561 * 0.000002 = 1.723392 TFLOPs, with DLSS, Ampere

Can still run:
Fortnite 1080p Low 90 FPS
Elden Ring 1080p Low 40 FPS
Black Ops 6 1080p Low NIS Performance Upscaling 80 FPS
Marvel Rivals 1080p Low FSR Ultra Performance 60 FPS
Flight Simulator 1080p Low FSR2 Ultra Performance 30 FPS
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 1080p Low FSR Balance 40 FPS
RDR2 at 80% resolution scale of 1080p, at Xbox One X settings, 30 FPS

I'm fairly perplexed about Switch 2 specs.

Not really in performance, I saw someone build a PC over the weekend and benchmark it and it played literally everything at 1080p.

But the actual development. So Switch 1 was based on the Nvidia Shield chip, but Nintendo did all sorts of stuff to downclock it for battery and thermals. Even so it ran games better than the shield because of the custom API.

So Digital Foundry has been telling us for well over a year that the T239 in Switch 2 was based on the T234 used in cars for autonomous driving.

But then a few weeks ago in a Digital Foundry video with IGN, Richard random blurted out that the T239 team, had nothing to do with the T234 team and was developed separately. The inference being that we can't derive anything from the T234 relation.

Then we learned a few days ago that there were NVIDIA staff developing Switch 2s GPU and CPU as far back as 2017 which is before the t234 was even released in 2021-2022.

So we're back at the point where we have to assume it's custom hardware. Also DLSS has come into question as to how it works as this is the first time it's on a fixed platform.

Naysayers are saying its not a free lunch, won't work well, no 4k etc.

Then others are saying its on fixed hardware with set output resolutions and won't be costly to use, as its the first system developed with DLSS in mind. And developers can actually implement it in any game, developing for it.

I like Richard a lot but I can't follow his tech videos gibberish at all, so I always watch the opening then skip to his conclusions, lol.

It was just weird that they'd told us for over a year that it was derived from a huge ass car GPU. Then randomly "from a completely separate team and they know what they're doing, we should trust them".

Paraphrased.
