Plus with the quality of other huge games like Fallout, Resistance 2, PoP, Far Cry 2, etc, weird quirky blob game is not a priorty nor do I feel like paying anywhere near $50 for it.
Bad timing, had it come out in July or something it would be a different story.
I don't understand where this perception came from that it should be a budget game. There is a ton of content and top class production values. I would pay the same for this as I did for any other brand new retail game.
Its not that it should be a budget game, it shouldn't be, its that I would not pay full price for it. And that goes for many many games which I wait for the price to come down.

I did. I paid about 70 bucks for this game.
Same for Endless Ocean in that it was a nice suprise that it launched at a low price, it even spurred me to buy it straight away, but I personally feel that there is nothing budget about it, I played it for over 29 hours and it has great production values most of the time.

You seem to be taking the hobo route: demos for free.

I was wondering D. Do you not feel there is value in buying a puzzle game at full price? I remember your Elebits review which you generally liked but said you wouldn't be happy paying full price for it. And you haven't got De Blob or Boom Blox and those are pretty sweet games if you ask me. There is a general perception that 2-D games for instance should be at budget price or people avoid them at full price, I am guilty of this. Do you think that kind of feelings exists for puzzle games too? Or is it just that people are focused on traditional blockbuster type games and this is just a case of a quirky game being underappreciated and undersold?
I think I paid $100 for Endless Ocean so suck on that.
And I dind't want to pay over $50 for GTA.
Moral of the story Endless Ocean > GTA. Graphics are better, gameplay is better, it's longer, and the story and characters are better!

LOL.
Yeah its longer and personally I prefer it. But the other stuff. LOL you're funny man. The characters are better.
Austrailia is region 2 right? Can't you import cheaply online from europe?

I'm currently trying to find a code that unlocks the Time Trial mode in Mirror's Edge. Apparently, you can only get this code if you reserve the game at Gamestop or Gamecrazy. I'm hopefull that I can find the code without having to buy the game. I figure the Time Trial mode would give me at least two or three more hours of free gameplay.

Dolllar was shit back then. Dollar was good when I got GTA. So I could import GTA cheaply, but not Endless Ocean. And obviously the story and characters are better in GTA, but then again a few reviewers seem to think they're Oscar worthy, and they're far from it. In fact the story and characters aren't all that great, not even by GTA's standards. Where as they know the story and characters sucked in Endless Ocean. Not that i mattered.
Can't wait for Endless Ocean 2. This is like some wonderful dream of mine come true.

Are they actually making another one? What more can they add unless it's Endless Ocean: Spearfishing Edition, which would be really sweet. Otherwise meh, more locations, more fish... first one had enough of both .

There is definetly something there. Lets take Katamari, a game most everyone loved, I bought only cause it was $20, if it was $50 would I have bought it, probably not. I have no issues with 2D games as long as they are as well made and fleshed out as most games are now. For instance I would buy a 2D Mario/sonic/metroid/zelda/castlevania/etc on a console for full price as long as those games are as full as a major 3D game. Lets take Wario Land, that game just felt like a portable game on a console, it did not have any of the magic of a full fledged epic platfomer like how Super Mario World was.
As for puzzles games, thats on the indiviual. I dont see that genre as the type where I feel the need to rush out and buy it day one. I enjoy puzzle games but they dont do it for me like the type of games I love. So they always get left behind.

I'm getting that one as well.

Yup, I believe it takes place in freshwater locations this time. GG's going to eaten by a crocodile!
I agree with you, Yarcofin. The first one has plenty of stuff for me.

Didn't have freshwater, though. And there's a huge difference between freshwater and ocean. (depending on where you are of course).
The third one should be devoted entirely to deep sea creatures. Of course, you'd have to be in a submarine!

There is tons of stuff they can add. But that's talk for a dedicated thread.

Hmm, all I can say is that De Blob is a platformer that outwardly looks like a puzzle title. I do see what you mean though. To me I just like playing games which feel fresh and different. I like to be suprised and try new stuff, like I suppose the feeling you got when you first booted up LBP?
Ouch, Darth. I know that the Wii library and hardware definitely pales in comparison to the other consoles but seriously...ouch...
I'm afraid of purchasing another Wii game for the same reasons as stated above - namely that the game will be $50.00 USD (and I have to help pay for Thankgiving buffet food and supplies), that it looks like it could get boring after about an hour, and more important - I have a GIANT DS back catalogue. With DS games, podcasts, work and school I just can't purchase any non-portable games right now.
de Blob looks interesting, but Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World will be my first Wii game for Christmas break. Maybe I could get it as a Christmas gift.

Well, as I stated in GG Weakly ( ), I rented de Blob last night. So far, I've probably spent around 4 hours in the game, and while it oozes with charm and has some of the best graphics on a 3rd party Wii title, I've also grown bored with it (as I had feared) rather quickly. It's a neat game, and I really wanted to love it, but ultimately I don't like the Wii remote flick-jumping or the rather boring gameplay challenges very much. Sorry GG, but I'm going to have to remain an asshole on this one.
i want this game but play.com is pissing me off. they're still not accepting my perfectly good credit card. i know several other people for whom this is the case and has been so for years ... they must be stupid not to have dealt with this issue for so long now.
GG you said i could pay by paypal but i don't seem to see how. where is the option to do that?

You could try PayPal's temporary credit card number option. It generates a one-time use number for security, perhaps in this case the number will generate a working number.
