There is no rational explanation for blind popularity. This is like trying to explain why Britney Spears had so much success instead of any of the thousands of slightly better looking/ slightly more talented bimbos living in the US.

Yoda - I'd say you have to play the first Uncharted in order to fully apreciate the character relationship between Elena and Nate. It's a short and pleasurable game, and don't worry about burnout, the second one is so enjoyable it would be impossible to get sick of it. Except for the tank level, late in the game.
