What are some TV shows or programs you enjoy that maybe other people probably won't care about?

For me, I love animals and wildlife so I watch a ton of Animal Planet. I was a huge fan of Steve Irwin and his shows. When he passed away, I was really saddened by the tragedy and made me depressed for a month. God rest his soul.

I'm also a huge fan of Jeff Corwin, who's also fun to watch. Right now, the shows I enjoy is Wild Recon, River Monsters, and wildlife documentaries like Planet Earth, Blue Planet, and the new Life.

I'm also a HUGE Man VS Wild fan! The things that Bear Grylls does is absolutely crazy but awesome! Things like that impress me and is worthy of the utmost respect! Since he's a ex-special force guy, it really is amazing how not everyone can do the things those special force guys do, especially what he does! I think during one of the "making-of" episodes, they mention that his whole crew is made up of ex-British special force guys. Obviously they're highly skilled because I don't think normal people or just everyday adrenaline junkies can do that kind of stuff. Amazing dudes!

And finally, I also enjoy cooking shows like on Food Network like Good Eats, and the cooking instruction shows by the various chefs. I don't know why, but I've always enjoyed them. They make me relax and relieve stress and I like watching skill and creativity in action, which is why I also enjoy painting instruction shows like Bob Ross.

Am I weird? Nyaa

Anyway, what about you guys? Any shows you enjoy that maybe nobody else does?

certainly don't find that weird at all.  i too love well-made documentaries. nature ones especially but not exclusively.

the BBC made some truly great ones (before they started trying to compete with the commercial channels).  national greek TV (ERT) also has made some truly amazing documentaries.

i cherish my dvd collections of david attenborough docus as well as blue planet and planet earth (the original versions have attenborough as the narrator the US releases have sigourney weaver).

i also love travel shows like "the long way round".

edit: on the Man vs Wild point, you should definitely make a point of watching werner herzog's grizzly man if you haven't already done so.

I recently bought Planet Earth on BluRay, even though I already owned it on DVD. I'm planning to buy Life soon.

Might want to be wary of Bear Grylls, a couple of years back there was this whole hoo-pala about how his TV show staged events and how he was stayting in hotels and faking certain scenes. Even to the extent where they had a guy dress up in a bear suit and pretend to attack his tent at night.

He had to profusely apologise for it all and his reputation took a tremendous knock.

The tv shows I enjoy that others dont are probably the news. I can watch the news on several different channels several times a day. I'm an information whore.

Also classic 80s cartoons and stuff.

Yeah, I read that on Wikipedia about the show. He's still cool though, so I don't care.

I mean, I don't blame him. If I had to eat deer crap and raw scorpions than I'd stay at a hotel too! LOL

He's done some crazy stuff, but after the stories I can't watch it without thinking that the camera crew are there with blankets and kit kats behind the scenes.

When I was in the states I watched C-SPAN constantly (I even Tivoed it when I was out of the house and caught up on it later).  So that's TV that most people would not watch.

Over the years I've enjoyed shows that go over the top on design and fashion, like Clueless, Ugly Betty and some others I've forgotten.  I just enjoy the look of such shows.

Number one tip for survival anyone should pick up from the show: when pretending to be hiking in the wilderness do not go further than a one hour drive from the hotel.

I think Grylls pissed on a piece of cloth and wrapped it around his own forehead to keep cool in one show.

Nobody tells me they're more weird.  Then how are you playing Endless Ocean?

I have a TV, but I don't have television service.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile

It would be weird if you watched television shows on that non-existant TV. Probably a decent show, though.

I play on a videoprojector. French law are so stupid here that you have to pay TV taxes if you have a television even without television service. I don't want to pay taxes for the crap that is on public TV, so I don't have a TV.

If it's the same cartoon that I saw when I was young, it was it that revealed my hate for any kind of paladin.

I hate paladins >_<
