Very much along the right track of thinking but No!

Those are not games.  At least not videogames.

You can ask other questions which I should be able to answer by yes or no, you don't have to go directly for the title.

Come on, with my first hint, and after further elimination thanks to Foolz's good answer that narrows it down to ... like one game.  Seriously.

No.  But very close.

I'd played Overkill upon release.  This one I'd never played before.

No man ... not that close.  I don't even remember you liking the Chronicles games as much as the one I'm playing right now!

One more try.

Haven't been paying that much attention, it's not my area of expertise.  The character models are some of the best on Wii and the Necromorph don't look much worse than they do on PS3.  Certainly no less scary.  Yes, it's on-rails but gameplay is intact.

I repurchased a PS3, because I needed a Demon's Souls/Vanquish machine, and figured I could also use a system to play PS1 and PS2 games. Plus with the added bonus that I'm willing to take one for the team and suffer the atrociousness that is the Rachel levels and the fact that they nerfed the game a bit, and play Ninja Gaiden Sigma, since I don't really feel like finding an OG Xbox or repurchasing a 360 to play glorious ass Ninja Gaiden Black. Though...I might because Ninja Gaiden Black.

However, since MGSV is around the corner, and I've basically been gassing that game up for about the year since I played Ground Zeroes I feel like going through the Metal Gear Solid games, not Metal Gear, because

A: I never played them

B: I never had any love for them, it was MGS when I fell in love

So Metal Gear Solid because Solid Snake is best snake. ...also it's the first one, so duh. Looking forward to going through these again, except MGS4, like aspects of that game, but ultimately fuck that game.

Congrats on your PS3 purchase but unless it's a US launch PS3 (with the 60GB HDD), how are you going to play PS2 and PS1 games on it?  Unless you mean digitally downloading the ones available on the PS Store.

Agh ... you also reminded me that my original XBox console (hardly used) was stolen alongside more than half of my XB game collection (about 25-30 games which included Ninja Gaiden Black, Jet Set Radio Future, Jade Empire, KOTOR 1&2 and many other games I may never be able to replace and get to play).

I also had the notion of going through the MGS games in the lead up to MGSV.  Also because I'd never played them before.  Did MGS last year I think, and MGS2 last month, started MGS3 and left it but I will try to get back into it ... in fact I should just start it over again.  But I may want to do one or two less "involved" games first.

The 80gig that launched with MGS4 had BC for PS1 and PS2, and MGS legacy collection comes with a DL voucher for MGS1. So my PS3 is a perfect PS3.

Yep, I'd say that's about as perfect as it gets.  Mine is an 80G (first model) one as well but it's European so I think it doesn't have any backwards compatibility.  It still works but I think it's a ticking YLOD bomb so I bought a ready replacement for it as I have way too many games I haven't played.

And the MGS HD collection I have doesn't include the original, so I had to pay for the download but I think it was fairly cheap.  No more than a fiver or something IIRC
