Last Saturday was our latest martial arts demonstration. This time we did it at Nishicon, an anime/manga convention. We had two jobs. To do an demonstration on stage and to do a workshop. Which is basically a short preview lesson.

The demonstration was an interesting experience to say the least. The stage was build up off section. Nothing wrong with that, except that the sections were not bolted to each other. So during out demonstration, the sections begun to shift apart. So you were not just doing your techniques, you were also trying not to fall in gaps that would appear. It was kinda like playing Mario while doing a demonstration. Our instructor and some other people that train with us and even some members of the audience would actually push the section so that the gaps would close, while we were doing our demonstration. We did not stop during any of it. We just kept going. Some of the audience did not even notice that the stage was literally falling apart. It was kinda fun though, dangerous, but fun. All in all a great success! We got some nice compliments after we were done. It is a shame that the stage is so dark, so not everything is visible.

The workshop was also extremely fun. The instructor gave a short lesson without a warming up, because if you are dressed up, chances are that you do not want to sweat. It was surreal being part of a normal lesson, only to turn around and see all those colorful characters! The demo team actually helped with the lesson, by explaining and training with the newbies. I trained with catwoman, police woman, ninja woman, supergirl and friend. Lots of girls basically. We were worried about how many people would show up at the workshop, but it really, really busy. And afterwards everyone was excited. After the workshop we walked around the convention and talked with some cosplayers, mostly girls. Some pretty cool people there. Will do again, but hopefully with a sturdier stage.

Can't remember if this was mentioned when you posted the last video, but the main dude that kills everyone looks suspiciously like Claude Van Damme...

Merchandise. Some cheapo games. I had the last laugh though, because I just bought Punch-Out for 6 euros!

These gals had some nice Attack on Titan costumes. Had a nice conversation with them, asking them about their costumes and how long it took them to make it. They where quite level headed. Where are these drama queens Robio promised me?

Maybe they're not in Europe yet. The cosplay explosion took off there a little later than it did in the US, so it hasn't had time to fully decompose into shit yet. Or it's possible they were there, but were such cunts they weren't willing to talk to you since you're neither a photographer or a fellow cunt-ass cosplayer.

Europe is not a country you dolt. You know, I remember something. Last year I went to Castlefest. A huge 3 day fantasy affair that have people dressed up like knights and stuff. You had a ton of people crying and hugging each other for no reason. I guess Nishicon is just too small to attract the drama queens. Will try to arrange a demonstration in the biggest Animecon in the Netherlands. Maybe the drama will be there! We can only hope, for drame queens and the King of Trolls together, only means awesomeness.

I never said Europe was country. I'm just comparing the trend in the US to the continent as a whole as I'm never entirely sure where each individual country is in regards to the scene. Russia is apparently really into it though, if that means anything.  And on a different subject, Europe ISN'T a country? Huh.... this has been an informative year for me. First I learn that Canada isn't the 51st state, and now this.

Oddly enough that's something I see at a lot of conventions and Renaissance Festivals in the states. I have no idea what the hell the reason for it is. I can only assume that most of those people have a loose grip on reality (and they do), and they get overly emotional when they're surrounded by their own kinds.

Oh and fun video BTW.

I actually asked about that. And the people usually have some mental defficiency like ADD or borderline. So that explains that part.

Yep that is Yoda. And you can see him throwing a girl off stage too. Come on Yoda, with behaviour like that, you will never get a girlfriend Nyaa

Thanks. Funniest part, the cosplay guy with white hair. Each time you see him with less and less clothes, because all that moving is warming him up!

**Re-watches video to look for white-haired cosplay guy!**

I also noticed Yoda training some girl in green and white stripes. She was kinda giving him the stare-down later, playing with her hair while she was doing it...

Go Yoda!

Police woman has a boyfriend. He should join in too, don't want anyone to feel left out!
