I'm thinking that it was only revealed to devs 2 weeks or something before E3? It will take time, more time than DS games to make new titles.

I agree, it seems very similar to the DS launch line up in a sense with ports of Mario 64, Rayman 2 etc

I think that with Nintendo, you can always rely on them eventually releasing portable titles worth owning. The DS didn't kick start until advance wars and mario kart, then the deluge began.
