Sorry. I ---LOATHE--- the art style of Cuphead. That's a 'Nope!' for me!

The Rare Replay is reason enough for me to get a One, believe it or not, but I still wouldn't get Cuphead.

I gotta say, overall it was the best E3 I've seen.

Imagine how good it would have been had Nintendo done a real show and threw in Zelda and maybe a couple clips of NX launch games. A new proper Mario must be a launch title I would think.

A full Nintendo presence would have topped it off.

Everything else though, a mix of AAA, indy, pseudo indy, VR, ONE and PS4 finally coming around, some nostaligic kick-ins, as well as backward compat on XBO, and AR... Just an overwhelmingly positive time for gaming.

I'm wondering how quickly and smoothly the backwards compatibility will go through. I still have a shit ton of 360 games to play, so it would be nice to be able to play them on the One and pack away the 360. Remember how long it took MS to get most XBOX games playable on 360? I hope this isn't the same thing again.

Digital Foundry over at Eurogamer thinks Ms have created a VM that maps the 6 threads of the X360 to 6 cores on the Xbone.  This would be possible on the software side because MS has always insisted on devs using DivX code.  BUT Xbone's CPU cores are weaker than the threads X360 games could use (1.6GHz to 1.9GHz), and DF are indeed reporting that games run at poorer framerates than on an X360.  Also, some later gen games used some smoke and mirrors to circumvent some parts of DivX9, so it might be hard to get those running on Xbone.

So yeah, it should work for most games, but with a poorer framerate.

^ kind of sad that a system 10 years newer would have that trouble.

Yeah.  I think both MS and Sony saw how Nintendo got away with the Wii being underpowered, figured they didn't need all that raw computational power themselves, but then retraced their steps and made sure the GPU was sufficiently capable.  So that's what we're seeing today: pretty games that hit CPU limitations, thus capping off improvements to AI and gameplay.  In the past a new gen meant more enemies on screen, better AI, ...  now it's just prettier graphics layered on top of the same old games.  In the past devs would offload graphics tasks to the CPU, now we're seeing the opposite happen.

Also rather funny how everyone dissed the WiiU for having a weak CPU when compared to the GPU, but for Xbone and PS4 no one seems to care since Teh Graphix are nice.

Yep, these days the only thing that matters is hitting 1080P/60FPS.

I loved that part in Horizon where she's tieing down that T-rex with cables.

Fair enough on Cuphead, but in general there were less E3 floor demo footage for that game last year to truly be a believer, but doesn't apply to MGS V. Unlike UC4 which again is conjecture at best based on what, a bunch of critics gassing that games demo back stage? You have no actual context for how good said footage actually is. Which still makes Uncharted 4 one of those games at E3 that doesn't have gameplay demos on the show floor for other people to actually try out to see if it's the real deal in those areas. Hell even the gaming media didn't get a hands on, they watched some dude play.

Based on past game experiences we can easily out together what playing uncharted 4 would be like and it sounds like everything I love about the series. E3 is about impressing us more than the details of the game itself.

I have nothing against cup head, I just felt I have seen that trailer before and the shock of it looking like an old cartoon is long gone. If it's your first time seeing it then fine, I get it, but it's old to me.

You think they are good games.

Because Killzone 2's multiplayer was rad.

Killzone 3's multiplayer was the opposite of rad.

Killzone Shadow Fall was boredom to the tenth power divided by the square root of hoetry. The campaigns suck universally.

Hmm you are an interesting fellow. I agree totally with this. I think we will be fine outside your zelda comments. Nyaa

BTW I just like feeling out everyone. What games you do or do not like says a lot about a persons gaming habits. And I mess around but in the end I respect your opinion.

No I really enjoyed it, I just fucking hated that last 10 minutes of the game.

That's the only entertaining part of the game. It's hilarious.

BTW you guys doing an e3 podcast? Not at a late time my time are you?

I enjoyed Killzone 3's multiplayer but it may because of who I played with.  I can't think of another game that had me playing with Solidsnake, Leo, Foolz and Yoda at once.  Those were good times.

Phil Spencer from MS explained it like this. The XBO is emulating the entire 360 operating system as if it were a game. So if you put in a 360 CD it immediately goes, "oh that's that 360 application, I will boot that application now" and then from that point on the 360 OS is eumulating on the XBO. For this reason, you can do screen sharing and all the normal stuff with the XBO because to that the "360: is just a game. The XBO OS does not acknowledge the individual titles, it just knows to emulate the OS.

So becasue of this, the publishers don;t have to change any code for the 360 game to run, it just has to run on the 360 OS. They are still going to let each publisher determine what titles will run, so the publisher has to saym "you can unlock our entire library (and MS will then test just to make sure)" or a publisher can say, "we were planning a HD remake of X, so we are only submitting Y and Z for testing and certification.

For this reason support will be spotty, because each game has to be actively put formward by the publishers. But technically, any game can work without the code being touched.
