I am okay with difficult games as long as they are not cheap. A game like F-Zero GX is extremely hard, but with practice you get better and better. Games like these are very satisfying. I will not accept games where you die for no reason. You know you walk and boom you are death with no warning. Or you are attacked of-screen. Fuck that.

I get what you mean. I am okay with F-Zero as its a test of skill and I've always been quite good at racing games. But fighting games where you have to learn a million button combos, or where the camera is fucked. Well there is a difference between testing skill and testing someone's willingess to memorise button combos and attack patterns. That's not fun.

i think fighting games are fair play so long as they are well balanced.  let people memorise dozen button combos if they think that will put them in good stead, you still have a fighting chance by sticking to your guns (even if you use basic attacks only) and knowing to apply them well.

And of course button mashing will always beat any 'pro' fighting game player. Happy

I prefer SSBB over any of the Pro fighting games any day. Fun factor beats all.
