Is my pic big? I use abload.de to upload them.

It is big compared to ours. I guess we all get them from Miiverse.

I'm getting ticked off being told I can't accept missions because I haven't met the requirements. Why even bother showing missions I can't do yet? Waste of time reading it.

Okay this is really pissing me off now. Why do you have to switch out party members for missions? All the various restrictions are ridiculous and petty. I can't even progress the story. Basically all I can do is explore the map and whilst that's fun I've gotten to a point where parts of the map are gated by huge invincible monsters. It's like Metal Gear Open world dodging massive assholes.

Okay this was my own fault, I didn't realise there was a console for accessing missions. DOH!

I'm liking this one even more than the Wii title I must say. Goes to show what a difference better technology makes, because it just makes the whole world feel much more alive & immersive. Especially when its tech you're used to seeing on every other device, then you have to go back to the stone ages for a Wii game which was always akin to popping in an old Gamecube game from 2002.

Also, just the way this one is set up, with the base hub & the different military factions you can play with....different characters you can recruit whenever you want for each specific mission. I love it. I love the vibe of walking through the giant city then running out into the unknown to go on a mission seamlessly, and how the vibe and mood changes accordingly. Even the little details like collecting things, stats, skills and arts...it all feels just a bit more streamlined than the last game. Certainly my favorite Wii U game of the year, if not overall.

I'm not sure, I prefer the original game so far. It's far more user friendly and the story and world setup (Bionis, gods etc) was more engaging for me.

In XB Wii you could play the story till you get outlevelled by enemies, then do side quests to level up and explore. In this game it's the opposite and they make you do all the side stuff before you can progress with the main story. They also do a horrible job of explaining how the systems work in this game, opposed to XB Wii which was really well explained aside from Affinity. I have no idea what half the shit in XCX does and even the digital manual doesn't help that much.

I have to go crawling to Miiverse to get answers and I still don't know how to apply augments for instance or how the rank/class system works when all I want to do is buy a massive sword. I still really don't get what switching probe types does either.

That said the actual open world in XCX is better and more engaging and obviously technically the game is on a whole other level.

The text though is as small as a flacid, cold pair of babys' testicles.

How do you fast travel between continents in this game? And how do you fast travel back to (inside) New LA from the open world?

Those aren't HD.

Just hit the home button during gameplay then boot up the internet browser and use abload.de

Once uploaded copy the direct link and close the pop ups.

Press the icon on the Gamepad screen that is above the plus. It will show you the full map and the districts of NLA.

To choose a different continent click on it the map would show a close up view and fast travel.

I've been reading more about this game than playing it, thanks to idle time and modern day smartphone tech.  I'm not sure this is a game for me.  In the 10 days since release I've only managed to play about 4 hours.  I have noticed that I can obtain different frontiernav probes, but have no clue how it works.  I'm still overwhelmed by all the stats and numbers.  There seems to be a huge amount of stuff to do and deep mechanics to revel in.  And I just don't have the time for any of it.  Sad

I hope I can really dig into this over the christmas holliday.  If not, I fear that it'll be lost to me forever.  At least there are nearly no games slated for release on the WiiU in 2016, so maybe I'll be able to get back to it down the road.  Nyaa

Well the Wii U may not be getting much, but the NX should have some games! I think...

It seems bewildering at times but in practice you get by without having to worry about much of it. If you were happy with XB Wii combat and equipping weapons/armour you shouldn't have a problem with it as it never really penalises you for not knowing how the stats work. I travelled and mapped nearly all of Primodia and never had to buy a probe, you walk up to an area and press A to stick one in and on the touchscreen you can click it and set it a type. You can do this whenever you want from wherever you want and as many times as you want. I've read you get probes by finding lost equipment on the map which you will do anyway whenever you come across it and its clearly marked on your minimap.

Also, as I discovered yesterday this is pretty much ideal for offscreen play. After Splatoon it's a joy to use the feature again and not have to worry about TV monopolisation.

Okay after watching the guide and reading an article here is my dummies guide to probes - super simple cause I'm typing via Upad.

  • You get probes by heading towards the yellow squares on the mini-map. Then tapping A in front of stuff.
  • You set probes where the giant red laser points to the sky

You'll do all this through regular exploration anyway^

After that - On the upad tap a segment where there's a probe - it will show what that area is good for ranked S to F, i.e good for money, good for mining. So you just click change probe and set it to the best one. Research=tourism=money BTW

You can chain together probes of the same type and level (minimum 3) for better effects. You shouldn't do more than 5 because it has no extra effect.

To add about the probes you have an unlimited number of basic probes which are what you use when you initially set up at a new location. Also when you change probes you get back whatever probe is currently set up there so don't worry about losing any probes. The only thing it costs is the currency to place it.

There was one place in Primordia where it said I didn't have the skill level to set it up which was odd.

Oh yeah. The probe sites go by your Mechanical level.

Yeah I pretty much understand the gist of it myself but haven't gone in and messed around with it yet.

I changed my soul voices for my character to be Balanced.

I noticed my other party members were mainly set to "Melee Focused" Soul Voice Commands.

I saw one probe site where you need Mechanical Level 5 to unlock it; it is FN 101 in the North West section of Primordia you need a Skell to get there.

I couldn't activate the site because I'm level 4 in Mechanical but I don't know how to unlock level 5.

Edit* I found out how to get Level 5 you have to do the mission "Off The Record" that is available when you get Level 4 in any of the three skills: Mechanical, Biological, and Archeological.

Yeah I found a level 5 probe site as well and my Mechanical level is grayed out at level 4 and I don't know how to level it to 5 yet.

So I hear there is only one art in the whole game that lets you heal a specific party member. Any idea how to get it and where it is?

Ch-ch-choose me!

Damn, Noctilum is about the most beautiful environment in a game.... like ever. The creature designs too, better than games and movies.
