Woah this site is different, nice. Hey Robio, glad you're here.
So I got Killzone 2, I loved the opening movie, it was like the start of this sci-fi epic, bunch of space marines talking smack, huge spaceships invading a planet, space battles, it clearly takes from the formula but it does it so well. I wanted to watch Killzone the movie at that point.
Then you land on the planet and it feels, well like every other shooter. Yeah the graphics are amazing, the production values are through the roof, and the sense of scale is amazing but nothing has really wowed me at all. Its good, its definetely a quality shooter but you've done this before. Its a more slow FPS, more about small battles, clearing the area and then moving on. There have been moments where they mix it up like driving a tank, or fighting this mini boss dude, but even that has been done to death already. Plus the story vanishes and its basic military stuff, "we have to secure the area!" imagine the start of Saving Private Ryan never ending, thats what this feels like.
Hopefully multiplayer lives up to the hype cause single player so far I feel could have just rented it enjoyed it and be done with it.
The animation is very realistic for a game of this type, but it has an unnatural hiccup every once in a while where it goes from very smooth to robotically stiff, back to smooth again. It's a bit jarring, but you probably won't notice it when you get wrapped up with the game.
I noticed this too, the game is so amazing to look at that when you see something so video gamey come across, like a dude sort of turn like a robot or cliping issues it stands out. No biggie but its there.
So I've decided when I'm done with my first year of college I'm going to buy a laptop. However I'm switching sides due to the profession I'm moving toward. That's right people I'm going to buy

You can run Windows on a Mac, so no big deal. Just get a Macbook pro or something

He's buying a Macbook, since he specified a laptop.
So I picked up Braid for XBLA. I wanted to get this before but just never got around to it but since it's their "Deal of the Week" I had to pounce on it. What a beautiful little game this is. I love the storybook like graphics and the music is quite soothing and relaxing. I finished World 2, which is actually the first one you start at, with all the puzzle pieces and there were some that made me think a little. I imagine it will get pretty challenging later. It's a pretty clever game and a very good deal at 800 MS points/$10.

NO PUNKY
SAVE YOURSELF BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
Why? It's only for my media, animation, and video editing. I'll still use my PC but only for games.

I played thruogh the first 3 levels (maybe 4), it's a good little game, I want to get back to it.

funny, i have been thinking of doing that too. specifically for my music. if i have to run software like ableton or traktor as well as a midi controller etc i need something i can depend on so i was thinking perhaps a macbook or a vaio (it's what most people use for this).

i loved those. especially thong-boss and kite-ninja. i can't wait for that game. i also saw yesterday that P4 is being released in europe in march and i was happy about that as i didn't think we'd get it here.
Okay not to sound fanboy but another reason why I'm switching to Mac for everything not gaming is because I'm sick of how shitty of an OS Windows is. I mean I still have shit crashing on me on a regular basis, automatic updates makes my PC perform WORSE, and just little glitches and shit about. And I'm running the latest version of XP too.

That's no fanboy talk, windows sucks, we all know that!
What the hell? Do you guys all come online at the same time? Because it was pretty empty yesterday.

WTF?
Asshole That was the dream of this place to me, all friends, no moderation and tons of ball and penis jokes. That reminds me, gamespot suspended me for calling someone a douche.
I am strictly a Nintendo guy these days. I have a Wii and DS, though I barely touch the DS. I've given it to my 2 year old son in hopes that he'll break it so I can go out and get a DSi. Unfortunately I had the old brick DS and that thing is a built like a tank. Not even my son, the devil incarnate, can dent that thing.
Part of the reason I only have the Wii is frankly I don't have the time for 2 consoles anymore. I'd give anything to get a second system so that I could get my hands on Street Fighter IV, but with my lack of time I can't justify a second console even if I could afford it.
And yeah I'm glad I finally came over here. I finally got fed up with Gamespot. Too much negativity these days. And most other forums I checked out were filled with douchebags, but the bad kind, not like the fine ones we have around here.
Yeah I understand that. Even with owning two systems and a handheld I feel like I have no time. I used to replay every game I own at least twice. Otherwise I feel like I'm on a ride I can't get off. I wonder how many guys have left G-spot? Mantorok and Joyer both left, I only came across them on GAF by coincidence. Both got fed up with the place. Some of us here tried 1up for a while and the unrestricted arguments and BSing was too much.

The new Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecuter looks good. Should be a welcome refresher to the series too. I loved the Ace Attorney games, but I have to admit they were getting kind of stale. Not that I didn't enjoy Apollo Justice, but the new "truth detection" system didn't really grab me. From these screens it looks like you spend some time actually recreating the crime. Should be good.
That godamn bracelet! I had to gamefaqs a couple of times. I actually like breaking psyche locks but the bracelet was awful. This Perfect Prosecuter game almost looks retro to me because of the third person graphic adventure style. I'm looking forward to it, yet a little worried that you may lose the connection to the characters when they are so tiny. Thankfully they put them on the top screen but they dont seem to be talking straight at you like the other games.

Oh wow, thanks man. Looks great. After playing HOTD Overkill I'm starting to appreciate visual filters more in games. It's a great stylistic way to spruce up the look of visuals on the system.

Oh. Coopersville made a Killzone 2 thread BTW you should put this there.
Is the Saving Private Ryan thing a good thing or bad? You sound like that gamecentral review I posted a few pages back. It looks through the roof production wise but gameplay was said to be just everything you've done before a few hundred times. Multiplayer is suppossed to be very good though.

Ah shoot, this is one of the reason I hate not having my 360 online. There are quite a few XBLA games I would get if I could. TMNT being one of them and Castlevania SOTN. Have you downloaded World of Goo yet guys? It's really great.

They say DVD on them, so I don't think so. Maybe they're a "making of" video or something like that.
One says compact disc, so soundtrack and making of DVD?
