Fucking cock! Damn DmC! The other Capcom games were stupid. What happened to them? Where is Mega Man and Resident Evil at least that will good I think. Not even the Mikami/Sude game looks all that great.
Last Guardian will have to save TGS.
One day Team Ico will learn how to make a game that's not gray and I will be excited to play it.

i'm loving the look of the new DMC
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
They gave Halo Reach the same score as Haze!
I'm usually in defense of Famitsu and their scoring, but this just takes the cake. They really have been "iffy" lately with their scoring and I don't think I can take them credibly anymore.

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
Famitsu scores their games accordingly to what Japanese gamers tend to like. So I wouldn't say they're dropping the ball, they're just writing for their audience as a publication frankly should do. I could be wrong, but I've always been lead to believe that FPS aren't nearly as popular in Japan as they are in the West.
From the Epic Shinji Mikami interview at 1up:
"Mikami admits that he can't go for more than 30 seconds without talking, but I think it's more like 10," says Suda. "I think that if he actually sat quietly for 30 seconds, he'd explode."

When I bring these up, Mikami's first reaction is laughter. I mention Goof Troop and get my first English reply. "My best game," he jokes.
"My biggest success was that I was able to work with so many talented creators, and the fact that I was able to help them develop their potential," he says, referring to people like current Platinum Games director Hideki Kamiya who Mikami gave a break as the director of Resident Evil 2, and went on to direct games like Okami and Bayonetta.
"My biggest disappointment was that [the higher-ups] made me be a producer, and that I had to step back from actual game development... When you're a director, you can really create the game you want to create hands-on, whereas when you're the producer, you just kind of oversee it, so you kind of have to stand back and watch. So, being a producer is boring."
"Even companies have these kinds of 'rules' or personalities," Okamoto continues. "At Square Enix, they drive BMWs. Sega drives Ferraris. At Capcom, they own big, expensive watches. And the guys at Koei were all tall. That was the image they wanted to cultivate. It was just the company's historical image, and the image they wanted to put out there. Not only that creators have a good lifestyle, but they can maintain that outwardly."
Dvader note: With what money do the Sega employees get Ferraris.
The idea was a hand-to-hand action game with lots of over-the-top melee attacks and a thick sense of humor, all done on a small budget with simple environments and background art. It clearly holds a special place for Mikami -- he tells me that the way to impress him is to finish God Hand on its "Hard" difficulty setting, and when I ask if there's any Capcom franchise he'd like to revisit for a sequel at this point, he chooses God Hand.
A 3D game? "Absolutely. It's something I've wanted to make for 10 years now." He notes, however, that he didn't seriously consider a 3D mode for Vanquish: "The current setup is you've got the glasses and the TV frame as the limits of what you can show. What I really want to make is something where you've got the full face setup, where it covers your entire field of vision, and you look over there and it changes your perspective -- something where you can really get immersed in the world."
His preferred design scope? "I enjoy both larger games and smaller games. But if I'm just working on smaller games, I get a little bored and want to work on something bigger. And if I'm just working on a bigger game, by the end of it I really want to work on something smaller."
Holy shit at that Sonic Adventure IGN review. Go to hell, SA still kicks ass.
Okay, the IE9 Beta doesn't work with this site AT ALL! Every page I've tried looks seriously effed up! I'm posting this from Firefox because . . . well, wow.
HELP YODA!!!
Worst news ever. Devil Will Cry when he sees this game.
Ninja Theory are a bunch of whiny windbags. They made Kung-Fu Kaos and said the poor scores were because of politically correct US reviewers, They made Heavenly Sword and blamed Sony for not marketing it, and since then they've done what? Now they get handed DMC.
I have heard from two sources now (Capcom PR in Europe, and Japanese game Journalists Nick des Barres) that it is known that for all magazines in Japan, including Famitsu, that you get scores for buying advertising in their magazine. They said if you buy just the small space in the back you don;t get good scores, you have to pay for the large panel advertising.
This was dissapointing to hear, but on the good side the Capcom guy said that does not happen in Europe, and rarely happens in the US.
Trolling for page views, that's all they are doing.
That's the IGN way!
