Catherine is a puzzle game? The demo is weird. It starts with a cutscene about movies, hand drawn animation showing fake versions of classic films. Then you are sheep dude and you enter this tower like area and it says stage 1. You take control, its basically a puzzle game where you need to climb the tower while pushing blocks around or in and out. As you climb something from below is slowly making its way up to kill you. You get a rewind feasture if you screw up. The point is to climb the tower as fast as possible while getting the extra points scattered around the tower.

After that its a long cutscene with the dude talking at two different restaurants. I have no clue what was said. On the news there seems to be some murder. The cutscene ends when a girl approaches you at a booth. Then you go to the next level which is a slightly more complicated tower and two giant evil witch hands, one carrying a bloody fork is trying to climb up to kill you.

Demo ends after that and shows that there is more to the game than just climbing towers, it seems you do get to walk around locations in the real world. I guess if you like puzzle games mixed with bat shit insanity you will enjoy it.

Catherine sounds kind of cool.  I'll see if I can download the demo on the euro PSN

whats funny is that they may call it next generation portable but its no where as good as the 3ds in terms as next generation

          From the GAF JRPG community? That would be dubious praise given how few of them would actually have access to the game at this point.  Or the critical praise from Japan (equally dubious given the payola standards of publishing in that culture).

I'm not making a judgement on the game, it looks like it will be triple AAA, I just am doubting the veracity of any westerner who claims to have played it at this point.

I wouldn't surprised if a lot of people have a copy of it. I just popped over to the Pirate Bay and there are already over 600 seeders and over 1000 leechers. If anything I think it's just pretty clear who over at the GAF happily download their games.
